fuel rail pressure, wont my fuel pressure regulator take care of that?

TPS goes on the throttle body, I've got that covered

EGR is gonna be deleted, there's nowhere to connect it to the intake right now anyway, actually, that might be what those bungs on the bottom are for.

edit: one more thing r3d, is the 75mm t/b gonna be enough for me or do I need to run something like a twin 65?
good.

yes. anywhere you can get a coolant temp above the thermostat. It's not picky. Move it if you need to.

if you're return style, don't worry about it. Actually... don't worry about it anyway. If you're 99+ then you need to make sure and get fuel rails that will take the sensor or get the aeromotive adapter for billet rails.

tps, good.

EGR, seal it up and delete the sensors. You'll probably need to have them shut off in the tune too.

75mm is pretty big. If you see manifold vacuum at WOT then you need more TB. Not a second before that.

Ping me if I left anything out.

Thanks, now I need to find a cheap 75mm tb to use as a template to mod the intake and then I'll smooth everything out and get it ready for powder coating.

Hey guys, i bought domin8s Forged/cammed 5.4. I believe r3dn3ck sold him the HPS Hardball'r intake which i now have . A little about me and what i used to drive. I was in the Army for about 4 years, deployed, got stop lossed, and finally finished my contract on march 12 instead of september 12. Anyways, i had a turbocharged 99 Cobra that got totaled and thats when i bought his car.

Last week i bought the tork tech terminator kit with the 5.4 spacers and a home ported m112 with a 2.8 pulley and almost everything i need to complete the build. The rest of the stuff i need are the gaskets and a couple of bolts and nuts. Im also tuning the car myself. Bill from Tork Tech told me it'll get shipped next week. Once i get everything together i will start tearing it down and building it up.

A bit of advice, take it for what it's worth: Granatelli is ****, if you put that crap on your car we'z gunna haz words. Maximum Motorsports k-member is the one they're stealing the design of and making a shitty copy of. Buy the real deal. GMS makes crap stuff in china and suspension is one place you do not skimp. It costs double for a reason. Quality.

I do agree with you and I have owned the MM k -member and a buddy bought the Granatelli piece. I cannot tell the difference between the two! And for half the price it is tempting. Plus I have never seen one failure of the Granatelli piece?!?!?

So you're who bought nate's car. Sounds like it will be a fun setup with the blower. Good luck man.

Yup, thats me. I was the one who told everyone on 3.8 about your build. They were all surprised with a wtf look lol. If you get some access over there check out my build. Right now im about 90% done with gathering parts, i just have to wait for those parts to arrive .

I'll check it out, I can look at stuff over there but can't log in. It's been several months since I've been over there. I don't think anyone would believe how much I've turned around. I'll check out your build later.

I have, a few. I've even seen a k-member that had to be effectively re-welded in a half dozen spots because the welds were visibly shitty. please, do us both a favor and don't risk it with GMS. I know people personally who've had control arm pickup points snap off, control arms break at the ball joint, bolt holes not line up, etc... The best thing GMS makes is suspension and they're so bad at that that anyone that does real racing will giggle at you using it (unless GMS sponsors you and replaces all the failed parts for free)

Hey guys, been reading through the thread but haven't done so in detail, and was wondering if perhaps you had the patience to answer a question of mine...

My pops and I had a 2000 Lightning that was in a fire - the wiring's pretty much cooked, and anything even remotely resembling vinyl or plastic is melted. Engine seems fine, though, which leads me to believe the transmission is too.

Which naturally leads to the question - we've got a couple of Mustangs, a '93 LX and a '98 GT, and was wondering how easily the engine would bolt into them (besides the obvious hood clearance issues :P). We're a bit redneck, so we don't mind having things sticking out of the hood, as long as it runs. Any input's good input, and I appreciate it!

Thanks.

Do the 98. It's a drop in. Use the 98's existing tranny. PM me when you start having specific questions. I've done a lightning swap. A couple others here have too. The12fast4u comes to mind.

Let me repeat just to be clear: It's a drop in. You'll need more fuel pump in the 98 though.

so for my build, forged 5.4 2v and a kenne bell! but i am unsure of what i can use, the lightning 2.6 with a side or rear inlet? any info would be great thanks

power goals are over 800 in both rwhp and rwtq..

a blower with a side entry if or a rear like a whipple will work.if your goal is to try and get it under a hood.i would stay away from a blower design like the factory lightning blower or kb 2.3 with the plenum on top of the blower

Guys, long time no talk...hope everyones projects are going well.

I need a spark plug recomindation for a S/C'd 5.4L!!! Dont know if it makes any difference but I do have ported heads, pretty nasty cam's etc.

Also, to make a 96-97 V-2 fit the timing cover, be aware there is a little cutting/rewelding required, but nothing to bad. Ill throw up some pics once everything is back together and running.

Second-Is FTP still making LT's? I want a set dangit!

Finally - Please keep buggin MHS about their single plane intake design when you can!

are you using the F-150 vortech bracket or a mustang one? I know how both look but didnt think that the truck bracket would even been an option for mustangs.

I'm assuming "96-97 V-2" is for a vortech blower but that doesnt really mean much as far as detail goes.

Just curious is all...I have similar plans next year.

The truck bracket isnt an option b/c it would protrude WAY through the hood, and they also dont make it anymore.

The guy whom I bought my vortech kit from had my timing cover modified like his to accept the 96-97 mustang gt vortech bracket, then everything else basically bolts into place.

I will get pics/schematics up once everything is running!

You guys might want to check out the TPS full face kevlar clutch disc. It's meant for brutal cars but still has a sprung hub and drives really nice in town (I use it). www.TPSmotorsports.com, call up and ask for Mike Mak, tell him I sent you. With that disc and even a standard centerforce pressure plate you should be ok for most of you. Some of the high boost blown guys might want to go to an entirely more aggressive clutch if they have the tranny and rear end upgrades done to support it.

I couldn't find any clutches on their page.

I'm wondering if my t-45 is going to support the power I'm going to be making. I thought about having a 26 spline input shaft installed, but I don't know if the old tranny is gonna be able to take the abuse I throw at it. I tend to powershift it a lot.

I'm kind of a t45 brain and to be honest ford built you a good tranny to start with. Their are some manufacturing flaws that have killed the reputation because of the shifting components but I have never seen one seperate from power. The 26 spline input is a must! I bought a t45 tranny from a twin turbo setup guy and the input shaft was twisted from 600+ RWHP. Although off idel torque could be the killing factor.

Hopefully someone will jump on that deal, I'm tempted but I can't really justify 2 cars set up damn near the same.

But if it comes down to it, I'll take the rear end and the RLCA's

I do, I'll PM you the details and a pic.

I finally found a t/b to mate up to my intake. I'll have that all modded to work and make it look pretty after the first of the week.

Red, that price is beyond a good deal at either 7 or 8, can't figure out why one of these guys planning a big project hasn't snapped your up instead.. For me I'm simply not in the market, I need something that can haul a family around. Thanks for the offer though...
