It's worth your time. He knows 4v 5.4's and sometimes makes intakes for them. Get that compression up if you're going NA+N2O. 10.5-11:1. 4v longtubes are just 4v flanges on 2v longtubes. FTP can handle it.
I wish I had called him up. I'm pretty happy with my decision on my setup though. I'll be able to deck my heads to get 10.5:1 out of these flat tops and I'm getting the heads ported as much as possible with the biggest streetable cams I can handle. Then some custom longtubes from a guy named Derek Bivens. Then throw some nitrous at it.

i ran my stock t-45 on my first 5.4 swap for over 2 yrs with tons of abuse and no issues.

t45 is pretty tough. With your 4v I would do the 26 spline input, and a general sprucing up with new synchros and dogs and a hardened output shaft at some point. If you have tons of traction and launch hard then the need for upgrade is greatest. If you street drive it and don't launch on sticky tires or an improved track (basically so you can break traction) then there's no real worries. If the tires break loose the tranny probably won't.

I'll never hook like an all out drag car. I'll have a decently built suspension and I'll run some ET streets at the track, but I should be alright. I need to find a place to get the input shaft put in and to refresh the tranny, the synchros definitely aren't new.

Default Patriot heads

Possibly sellimg my Partiot stage II PI heads and comp cams 270's. If anyone had a solid offer that I can't refuse, PM me. I may be at a crossroads and I'm either gonna go all out (Trick Flow heads and MHS cams) or maybe even bail on it altogether.

Where can I get a 26 spline input shaft? If I could rebuild the tranny myself, it's something I'd like to do. I just don't know where to get the parts.

I'm not driving to nc for anything. Was hoping if these things weren't too complicated I could order the parts and do it myself. Otherwise I need to find someone locally, I know there are a ton of race cars in town so somebody has to have a built tremec tranny that can point me in the right direction.

Ditch what project? Where would you come up with such an idea? I've invested far too much time and money into this thing already. I've worked too hard to turn back now.

BTW r3d, I dropped my intake off with the guy that does all my fab work. I can go pick it up in about a week, I'm not rushing him. He's gonna make my headers and help me build my rear end and rear suspension too.

Got the part i needed for the 5.4 tork tech kit. Its a little spacer type of thing that i need for the blower bracket. Bill from Tork Tech told me on wednesday that my lower intake was getting powder coated and should be shipped this monday. I already have the injectors, i bought dual cobra pumps/hat, have a canned tune (for now), all the heat exchanger lines, heat exchanger, pump, relay, blower gasket, pretty much everything.

Only thing i need is a shorter accesory belt and the blower belt as well. I also need a lightning IAT sensor so it could be threaded into the lower intake and then im done. Probably in another month or so i will add a snow performance meth kit.

can someone with a 2v measure the distance from their t/b to the passenger fender or some other easy point? I'm trying to see if I'll have enough room to run a GT style CAI or if I'll have to fab something up.

Edit: Bought some coil covers that got powder coated wrinkle black, they're getting sent out to me in the morning. I also just bought a timing cover that I'm having sent to the powder coater as well for the same wrinkle black job. Then when I get my plenum back, I'm having that done too. It's gonna look so sexy under my hood.

sorry jarryd, it was horsplay that I'ma choke. Got dyslexic for a minute.

Hyper bad news for me... started the car for a walk-up buyer yesterday. Bad sound. Idles fine with no noise but when you open it up there's a low grade top end rattle and a plugged up exhaust note. I think it's got a bad lash adjuster or a broken valve spring. That killed that deal and the likelihood of it ever really selling in it's current form. It runs and drives but there's something under the valve cover that's wrong. The noise almost sounds like an exhaust leak, kinda tinny. It's not a bearing rattle, I know that much and given how minor it is I'm inclined to say it's a valve spring. I'm going to pop the plugs and see if there's any sign of evil.

Begin the part out. I need people with cash waiting to lay claim to parts.

No. It's not worth 250 bucks for me to tear apart a perfectly good fully built shortblock.

Shipping for the seats will be about 130 bucks or so. Added to the price listed that's about 230 bucks. Note the seat covers have a few tears here and there. No gouges out of the padding though.

So far Eric has dibbs on the intake, the12fast has dibbs on the exhaust.

I'm updating the price list to split some of the pieces up a little farther.

I have 20 summit bucks for sale for 10. If you're about to order something from summit you should buy this from me and feel great about having gotten 10 bucks for free. The certificate expires today so you need to use it today.

Suspension is back up on the block. I'm not giving this stuff away guys but you are getting good prices on top shelf stuff. Take it before I set the car on fire.
