Was planning to drop a 5.4 in my 03 GT. I want to have all the parts before I make the swap vs getting things little by little. I have read quite a bit of your now 400pg thread, but there are too many side convos. Yet, what I have gathered from you and other forums is that I will need Short tube headers, but didn't you help in the creation of longtubes? Also, I will need a intake from HPS, 8-Bolt flywheel (aftermarket). Wiring harness will need to be cut and extended, but I'm unsure of the pick up tube and oil pan. I've read the oil pan needs to bent out for clearance, but what is the issue with the pickup tube? Are these the 6 changes? BTW, this swap should have no problems passing emissions correct? I wouldn't see why it wouldn't, but a retired mechanic asked, so I'm checking to be safe.

If you have a 96-04 mustang then use a 97-03 5.4 block. I have lots of suggestions to make it easy. My primary suggestion would be to buy all my parts and skip the guesswork.

her redneck I am new to this site and I have recently blown the 4.6 in the gt. I figured might as well swap in a 5.4 right? Well I read the forum on here about the swap and I was wondering if it matters what year of 5.4 I get and if you had any suggestions to make the swap as easy as possible

TB will work fine with the HPS intake and your existing elbow. All your existing stuff bolts right up. www.car-part.com for your motor. You're looking for a 97-03 5.4L. I'd look at a 00-03.

you'd have to change about 6 minor parts. Flywheel/flexplate is the biggest one followed by oil pan and pickup tube. After that, it mostly just drops in.

54powered... whey are you posting that? Not a good idea. Edited.
