The only reason Im not going with the hps intake is because I'm seriously considering doing the tork tech 03 04 cobra blower for the 2 valve my buddy put a whipple on his cobra and is willing to give me his blower for free if I buy the tork tech kit it's 2k but it looks really good hood clearance is an issue but not as much as with the lightning set up oh yeah my flywheel is a spec 11" steel flywheel that I bought off of eBay for 60 bucks

i have non pi heads on the 5.4 and 4.6 and a pi intake manifold, but how do i have one without the other? i was doing the pi swap on my mustang, but the mechanic that did it,screwed my motor, the heads i dont know if they're good, the block's internals are seized, the pistons have marks from the valves, so they're probably bent right? thats why i am afraid of doing another pi head swap, so i'll just stick with the pi-npi adapters

This is one reason the PI heads are so wonderful, awsome flowing exhaust! The others would be smaller combustion chamber, better valve design out of the box, fast burn swirl(due to small combustion chamber), and a great market.
Npi strong points are Awsome flowing intake, able to use flat top piston = cleaner burns(bigger chamber) and able to use a valve lift nearly .100" over what the PI can use
With a little bit of what the PI heads use and some know how the NPI heads can run too.
Research!!!

Thanks, but I'm looking for the major/thread pitch #'s from the head of the bolt. Gonna go to the store in the morning and pick up some bolts and trying not to waste the trip.

hey guys, just joined this forum, interested in doing the 5.4 swap in my mustang.I bought a 5.4 Triton engine with less than 2000 miles. my problem right now is the intake, since the heads are NPI,i have several ideas, either the reichard racing or the mmr adapter plates with the hps pi to npi adapters, or is that too many adapters? haha.I could also go with the hps pi to npi adapters with the 5.4 hps hardball'r right?
My other question is, can i bolt the 5.4 to a t56 from an 03 cobra? and can i bolt that up to a 97 mustang gt? thanks for all your help, im kinda lost on which way to go right now. oh, and the t56 is because i dont want to shred my current trans mission

+1
NPI heads out flow PI heads "INTAKE"! Out of the box or max ported, NPI rains. Exhaust........HHHahahahahahahah this is where the NPI head craps. The NPI head is an awsome head with more strong points than a PI head, but the exhaust is just poopy. Even ported heavy with big valves

pretty sure that's the correct pitch.

tested the fuel system yesterday, A1000 is noisy but not as bad as everyone lead me to believe. fuel pumped thru the system just fine. after putting gal in the tank and running it thru to the y block in the front and running a hose back into the empty gas can i'm glad i did so. from cutting and assembling the fuel system i saw a good bit of particles and crap in the gas once it went back into the can. so everybody run thru the system before running it.

Hey r3d why do you say the tt conversion will be so much? I have most of the parts to it (blower tb intake front mount heat exchanger fluid transfer pump coolant reservoir injectors mass air) most of which I got in trade for work I realize I'm gonna have to build the engine but I'd still have to even with a centrifical blower

Pretty much, I used all my 4.6 pullies and the belt. I threw a new tensioner on there too.

Hey ya'll, just wanted to let everyone know I got my repair manual in last night, and have most of the torque specs and clearance allowances available. debating whether to scan and post, or just make a large post. In the meantime, PM me for any info you might need.

If you want to scan them and send me the jpegs I'll serve them from my website for you guys.

When I spoke to tt on the phone they told me that the intercooler was included I was worried aboout the added cost so I made sure to ask I would have to buy hoses and fiitings though. The blower is a for sure thing all I have to do is pick it up

did some playing with desktop dyno. Put head flow data up to a stage 1 head from stock since I'm pretty sure after really inspecting them again that they should flow better than stock at least to that level. I put in data for the blower and found and corrected a mistake I made relating to belt ratio and there's new estimates of output. So with 8lbs it should see 420-435rwhp and 520-530rwtq. So I can use 42lbs injectors! yay.
Anyone got any 42's or need 30s?

Just in case anyone else has to buy some, they ended up being M10X1.50
