For those of you going the 4V route, you better pick up the phones. When I was at the All Ford Show in Carlisle on Saturday, Kar Kraft had a tent, and they had a Boss 290 intake. So, I'd pick up the phone and call them to see if they still have any since that intake solves most of your problems.

Pics of the hardball'r install, Thanks R3dN3ck it installed perfect and the coolant crossover is great.
blowing air through it to clean out any debris from shipping
the belly of the intake was one large opening vs having individual runners down into a much smaller bottom area
installed for the most part. I'll do another photoshoot of the car soon and get real good pics of it installed
Here's a little comparison for the height difference between the hardballer and stock with spacers
Here u can see the spacer we made above the alternator for the shaker brackets, showing how much taller it is vs now where we dont have to use those at all

so when we were taking my engine apart we pulled off the flywheel, it was an 8 bolt. well my dad keeps insisting that it cant fit my transmission at all and keeps saying that it wont fit no matter what you or anyone else says. can anyone help me convince him that hes being an idiot and that i dont need to buy a new flywheel AND clutch just to make him happy?

well guys the forged lightning engine is almost back together, hope it does better than the first one lol, important lesson was learned dont get greedy with the stock rods 17lbs boost +stock rods= 7 snapped rods

this is a few of the tear down shots, the lightning motor pullied made 615 torque 512hp at the flywheel but it only made it 60 miles, a word of advice if your gonna supercharge it put the rods in while the motor is out it will save you so much time and money

Flexplate:
Flywheel:
If your original 4.6 is a Windsor motor, it will have an 8-bolt flywheel and corresponding 10.5" clutch. Those can be transferred over to the 5.4L. More than likely though, your 4.6 has a 6-bolt arrangement, in which case you will need a new 8-bolt flywheel. You can either get yourself an older style and re-use your 10.5" clutch, or the newer style/4V flywheel that will use an 11" clutch. I have a couple spare 8-bolt flywheels setup for 11" clutches if you need (Send me a PM if interested).

the kenne bell should be lower than the eaton becuse the air enters the blower from the back, you dont have the intake plenum on top like the eaton, so if you remove the plenum that should take roughly 5 inches off the height, and maybe more depending how tall the case is on the kb . either way the kb will have a lower profile than the eaton
well thats in the near future, i talked with johnny lightning and he said that the whipple 3.4 was an oversized overated piece of ****, he said that the new 2.8 kenne bell is one of the bestbig bore blowers out. we talked for like 20 mins ,he was telling me about the shoot out with 3 03 cobras,3 gt500's,and 3 full weight lightnings all which had to be street cars and trucks, the cobras, and gt 500's had the whipple 3.4's on them, jlp had the kenne bell 2.8 on his truck, which was a prototype for kenne bell he was testing it for them. to make a long story short out of all the cars out there a full weight lightning came in 2nd place only bested by the evolution performance gt 500. that should tell you the potential of the 2 valve 5.4! that was a big *** truck moving like that, can you imagine what a motor like that would do in a much lighter mustang? i can tell you this much the torque from my l motor is insane and the blower is so loud when pullied ,almost gives you goosebumps lol , anyways thats what my play sheet looks like

yep i have that issue. he was like 1 tenth away from first. yea in my dream future i would like the 2.8 kenne bell, trickflow heads, and all the goodies but i just dont know if i can cash the kenne bell.... that does not mean im not gonna try. ill make due with the lightning blower for now. is there any advice that you can give me or red when it comes to the install? like with the vacume lines or any parts that was a pain so we know what we are getting into?
also how much boost can a stock 5.4 with the eaton handle? just the basic motor. no ported heads, cams, natta.

well mine had 17 psi with a 8lb crank pulley my results werent that great,im not sure how much they are rated for i have had mixed reviews on mine some say that should be fine some say that was overboard for stock rods. if i had to guess i would say dont go over 12 or 13 psi
sure i had to make a custom throttle bracket, i used the gt harness and computer ,you will have to splice the harness and extend a few wires ,the swap is pretty easy, the vac lines were about the hardest thing to solve but i have some pics of them, i used the factory headers the exhaust wasnt really and issue, also i used the egr delete cause we dont have emissions here so i thought i would free up some space. any questions feel free to ask

hey guys so i decided to swap a 5.4 in my mustang, i bought one for 900, only to find out it is the npi 5.4, im doing the pi swap on it and had a question, is the timing process the same as the 4.6? what i mean is do you use the opposite chain links? Im just wondering because the chains are longer, might be different, and why would i need an 8 bolt flywheel? the engine is a windsor and my 4.6 is a romeo, which only has 6 bolts right?
