Default chip

I want to buy a chip from M.T.. Does anyone have the SCT Superchips Custom Eliminator 4-Bank Mustang Performance Chip? My car is a 98 v6. I would like to hear from anyone who has this chip, or maybe other recommendations.

Thanks,

Erik

SCT products have produced the best results for me with stock off the shelf tunes and with custom dyno tunes. Always seems quicker and easier than Diablo to configure a custom tune and always comes back with an improvement over stock.

I'd say screw the chip and get yourself a X-Cal II. If you are done modding your car then a chip makes more but not total sense.

agreed, the tuner you can always go in and readjust stuff, but with the chip you are stuck with that tune it comes with, unless you get it reburnt or whatever they do, to your new specifications...go with the tuner hands down...(i don't actually have either, but from what i have learned the tuner is way better then the chip)

Go get a dyno tune after you do a little work and it will be like a new car.

i have a SCT custom chip...it works nice for me because it sets shiftpoints for my auto...makes it just a quick as a manual but without the fun of switchin the gears

i just went ahead and got it because i know i will be putting more things on in the future that require a tune and all they need to do is retune the chip...

I have the switch chip. Get the tuner UNLESS you have a need to change tunes on the fly! This si great for nitrous uses or guys who race a lot, but especially for nitrous users.

They all do the same thing IE. make the car better tuned, only thing is with the tuner you can read codes and some can data log. If you really want that go for it. Me i would rather save the money and get a chip then spend 400bucks on a x-cal2.
