Thanks. I wanted to buy yours but then kept reading about the 01+ Lightning lowers and how they improved by making the runners much much taller. I also needed an adapter plate that could clear my Fore rails so I had to get a 1 1/2" plate. Here are some pics.

Oh yeah, I went return style with the Division X fuel hat, GSS342 fuel pumps, 8an feed, 6an return, a1000 regulator, the whole shibang.

The towers that I had to shave down will be drilled and tapped so that my rails can bolt on there. The rear of the rails dont line up to wher the towers were so what I'll be doing is making my own bracket so I can bolt it down to where the towers were.

Hey guys, it's been some time since I've posted in this thread. The car has been running flawlessly for the last 4 years with the 5.4L. I have decided it's time to part with my car and move onto something else, like a 2012 5.0. With that said, I am reverting my car back to stock and have a lot of parts good for someone looking to do the swap. Here is what I have available. If anyone is interested in the items, please send me a PM. Or you can email me directly jscottgt(at)gmail(dot)com

HPS Intake manifold: $675
Comp 270AH Cams: $400
Comp Adjustable Cam gears: $150
Trickflow 75mm TB & Elbow: $100
FRPP 24 lb/hr injectors: $100
TwEECer RT w/ 5.4L specific files: $400

Parts I am looking for in order to revert back to a stock 4.6L:
Stock PI Cams windsor or romeo cams ok
19# injectors

Let me know... Thanks!

Ok, I know long tubes will be a pain in the *** but I just hate my shorties and always wanted the long tubes. Which long tubes will give me the less hassle? I know I will have to fab it for it not to hit the frame or steering shaft but I really do not want to wait for $1200 headers. I've heard BBK will somewhat work, what do you guys think or know?

Just bought my lightning lower/midplate/intercooler setup! Going much the same route as you Ortiz, but plan on taking the midplate to the machine shop here locally to adapt the stock mustang upper instead of the cobra/mach setup you've chosen. Will keep all posted on my progress just as ortiz has with his.

I am in the middle of this swap right now. I have drawn a list of questions I have not found here. Perhaps I overlooked some of them, if so I am sorry.

1) at the front of the stock intake manifold, there are 2 sensors, there is only one threaded hole on the front of the HPS sensor!!

2) What is the sensor in the valley of the 5.4, and what does it go to on the 4.6 harness?

3) The metal tube at the back of the water pump that goes under the intake manifold, can that be rubber? Can I do anything to make that connection easier to deal with?

4) I got a intake manifold gasket from autozone, its a felpro, and the tabs are wrong, the gasket it right, but the alignment pins are wrong. What am I shopping for?

5) Can I reuse exhaust manifold gaskets?

6) Will the belt tensioner for the serpentine unload when I unbolt it?

1) They're water temp sensors, and yes you'll need to drill a hole for the second, 99&up cars only had the 1.

2)Its' a knock sensor, just take it out and don't worry about it.

3)yeah just get a hose and put a clamp on it, it goes to the heater core. If you're buying hose just but it long enough to go all the way.

4) Try it on the other head, or the ******** could of gave you two of the same gasket, they're damn near identical.

5)as cheap as they are and as much trouble as they are to change in the car, Hell No

6) No its fine just pull it off

popped the oil pan and valve cover off and found old bolts on my cams and main caps..... so, another go thru on the engine and i'll throw in the turbo cams while i'm at it....

I wouldn't worry about a tap and die set for that thing, I'd just take it to a machine shop and get them to do it, it'll be cheaper than buying the tap.

That is what I think I need to do. I know a guy that has it, and I can borrow it. But I would need to know the exact size and thread. I dont want to take any chances, I can just take it to a machine shop and have them match the other hole.

I was shopping clutches and flywheels all night last night. I hate I cannot afford what I want, as in OEM flywheel, and a GOOD clutch but what do you guys think of this combo?

Flywheel
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-CH...item1c19969eb3

Clutch

This one puts me over my budget, but I know the name. And I can make the extra money scrapping the block next week.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXEDY...item255f6716c6

This one, worries me, even with stellar reviews in a lot of different cars.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-ST...item19c36c07c0

I need a battery, passenger side motor mount, and unless I break something on install, thats it. I have 230dollars in my wallet, I can see what scrapping gives me! But im SO SO close.

I have one more question, I have the lower pulley on both motors that have to come off to get timing covers off. The haynes manual says to break that bolt with the motor in the car, and wedge a screwdriver into the dust cover at the flywheel. Well, both my motors dont have flywheels on them, and are not in the car.

I have no impact gun. How can I get these nuts off so I can use my pulley extractor to get them off? Any tricks?

I got a 98 cobra flywheel on the way! Now I need to choose a clutch, can you guys help me out? These 3 are in my price range, do you all know of a better brand, or if one of these suck?

Reason why I didnt go with the stock GT plenum/tb was because the intake volume just got big and the plenum will be a huge bottle neck IMO. I went with the mach 1/cobra upper and dual throttle body because its going to keep up just fine. Not to mention that the lightning lower with a flat midplate and a plenum right in the center will look "off" to me.

Cool

Ortiz, I know nothing about the 4v, let alone the intakes... What does the 99-01 cobra intake flow? I know the stock 2v upper on our cars (per C&L) flow 466cfm. I dont think thats a low number at all!! With an aftermarket upper/tb, your can get even 25%-30% more... 580+-ish cfm. Thats definately not a RACE upper intake, but I think it'll hold its own.
As far as looks, I agree, it isnt as sleek and low profile as your setup. I drool over your setup!!!! But those L boys are using the lightning lower with 90* elbows and running a helluva 1/4mile.

high 8 with over 150mph with turbo setup on this intake...

Also, I did want to mention. With my research so far, I've found that the 99-00 intake is different from the 01+ intake. So If your buddy is going to mass produce your adapter, you'll need to figure out which lower to go with.
I picked up my setup for a steal, but its a 99-00 intake.
