Anyone intrested in 5.4L swaps, in here. Need you to opine.
I've gotta figure out how I'm going to rout my throttle cable soon. I'm gathering my remaining parts and I'm aiming to fire this thing up by the end of the month if everything goes my way. I think a longer throttle cable may be my best bed for making the turn but if anyone has any ideas on other options that would help.
I also just sent off my rotating assembly for balancing, ordered oil pump, injectors, and filters, about to put in the order for fuel lines and other than some miscellaneous hardware, I should have everything I need to get it going.

5.4 HPS doesnt fit flush
Hello Everyone,
I have a question for all the people who have used the HPS 5.4 intake. Has anyone had any issues of fitment flush on the heads. I have a r3d's intake and just went to set it on motor but it is hitting in the valley area and not allowing it to set flush on heads. My block is a GT500 and is probably the NVH style block. I am just looking for suggestions on how to make it fit. I have heard shaving letters off the bottom plate and grinding the area out on the block.
Thanks Guys.

Just use the E46 3V pump.
It's about 50 bucks your cost
FRPP has a complete kit for the 5.4 32V for a very reasonable cost.

Hey I'm sure this has been askd befor but I can't find a post anywhere. But has anyone tried to use the 5.4 2v truck long tubes for there swap or am I just stupid for asking lol iv looked at them and I can't tell from a pic how far down they drop or how far they stick out.
I actually just pulled a set a few days ago. They were out of a stock rebuilt longblock that's never been run. They have 0 miles on them.
Oh ya everyone I have 3v 5.4 out of a 07 king ranch when I pulled the valve cover and oil pan I found a lot of sludge build up the motor turns over freely but do you guys think its any good I know i m gona have to replace the rod bearings and maybe the mains. I'm sure the heads are done to. I has flat top pistons did all the 5.4s have flat tops?
I have a chance to get a 5.4 4v from a Nav. missing the intake and valve covers. I have an 99 GT 4.6 2v
How many other parts am i going to need for this mod?
Would i be better off getting a 5.4 2v ?
I need to start this project asap

You'll need a lot of stuff, but it's a fun project.
Also can I re-use my chain followers and tensions from my 4.6 4v?
Are the SOHC and DOHC timing chains the same for a 5.4?
My timing cover arrived yesterday. 150$ to my door. I got a eye on a used crank (std mains and rods) for 200$ + shipping.
if anyone is interested I built a 5.4 brand new block stage 2 heads forged crank forged pistons H beam rods and a custom timing cover to mount the vortech incuded all brand new never run everything to put a blown 5.4 in a 2000 mustang and the car as well a clean red ragtop 4 sale email me at windblowninwy@aol.com
