Are you gonna rebuild the 5.4?

You'll have to use the timing cover and chains from the 5.4

The heads and cams are the same, unless one or the other is a NPI.

Use all the accessories from the 4.6, everything should bolt up. The only issues I know of are the 2001 and later 5.4 timing covers dont have the the bolt holes for the power steering pump. And if you're using the coil packs, the passenger-side bracket needs alittle tweaking.

Just had an electrical engineer sit with me and work up a wiring plan for my nitrous system. I've got to buy a few parts but it's gunna be pretty slick. The whole setup runs off a single switch and uses LED's for diagnostics and is fully fused and relayed and has several safety's built in to shut the system down if anything goes wrong. The big change from normal is that I'm going to have a 1st/2nd lockout for the nitrous so it'll only work in 3rd/4th gears. 2nd gear has little traction as it sits and I'm sure the blower will only magnify that so to avoid blowing the tires off I figured a shift lever position dependency would be useful.

You'll probably have to use the rails off of the 4.6 but when I switched to the HPS intake the rails weren't wide enough, so I just put longer hoses on it till I get some aftermarket rails.

My stock fuel lines worked just fine with the HPS. Maybe it is just the returnless setups that work without modification?

r3d and company, question for you. How much HP can the stock crankshaft hold? I have Forged Pistons and Rods coming, but if the stock crank will be fine for 5-600HP then I'm not going to worry about it. Engine is out of a 99 F150.

easily... make sure it's balanced to your rotating kit and you'll be able to put a lot more through the stock crank than the stock tranny can handle.

Got my car on the ground! Runs great and sounds great! I still have an issue with the exhaust between the H and the tips. I'll let the exhaust guy deal with that.

WOOO HOOO !!! Can't wait to drive it!
