Everett is building a 4v 5.4 and is looking at B heads. I think you could maybe PM him about your heads and tell him I pointed you to him.

The intake clamshell should be able to be done with permatex (RTV). Always keep birdman941 in mind. He gets the aussie parts last I knew.

I figured RTV would be fine on the plenum, I can use a regular GT t/b gasket and I can probably use a 99-01 intake gasket. I need to pick up a coolant crossover and t-stat housing so I can get that whole assembly mocked up.

There's going to be some n00bs popping in asking questions. I've gotten a ton of PM's lately from several different guys starting various 5.4 swaps. Be gentle boys.

i won't be riding in mine for a while, still got a lot of suspension work, need a rear end, and a lot of body work before I'm ready to introduce her to the street again. Making <1000 a month makes it hard to finish up a car. I may be firing it up though lol.

finally got the break in the weather I needed. K-member is dropped and the headers are almost off. Almost. There's 1 nut holding one of them on and 3 holding the other. All are seemingly totally inaccessible but I'll finger out a way. I'm going to chop all the bits out of it that I think I can sell and call pick-n-pull to come get the carcass.

BTW, I'll be gone for a few days starting the day affa Christmas. So when people start badmouthing me for being unresponsive, tell them to **** off. I'm off pig huntin'.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. This thread has been very useful in terms of all the different configs on this motor. I'm still trying to decide which one I will use. I guess the only questions I have now pertain to swapping the 2V 5.4 into a 3V Mustang..

why would you put a 2v where there used to be a 3v? In that specific case, 4v is the more financially sensible option. Making a 2v work on a 05+ car would be a chore, mostly because of the drive by wire system and the fact that nothing transfers well.

Please give some more detail so the boys can be helpful. I'm gone for a few days starting... NOW!

That's what I would do.

I got my ported heads on the way and everett messaged me about my heads on corral and had me send him an invoice for a deposit on them until he can get the rest together. I need to reassemble them and get them packaged up now.

I'm in the market for cams now so I'm shopping around trying to find a good deal and then hopefully picking up an A-1000 pump for cheap from someone that says they can get me one. After that it's just a few bolts here and there, install the internals, an alternator, headers, and motor mounts and I'll be able to set it in place and fire this bitch up.

Folks have asked me why put a 2V where the 3V used to be. I've tossed around alot of ideas as many of you have. I wanted something different. I've been running a 13PSI Whippled 3V for the past 3 years. Loved it but just wanted a change. I actually like the taller deck of the 5.4 and having the blower stand above the cowl area. I have a 3inch cowl hood for the build as well. I also thought about just running an adapter plate to raise the Whipple as well. Anyway, the Whipple is sold now and I have a complete Lightning motor. I also have an extra M122, TB and inlet tube in the garage. I am aware of the VooDoo adapter. So you guys would use the 3V heads on the 5.4 block. I'm looking at keeping the internals stock for now, now as far as running the OEM 3V heads, what else would I need for the top end? Would I be able to replace my 3V engine harness/ECU with a 2V harness/ECU and continue mission?

Default FTP Headers.

I was wondering if anyone has been able to get in touch with TJ at FTPerformance since he moved into new shop. Trying to get in touch to purchase headers or get my name on a set when he makes another batch. Notdoing swap till spring. Just buying parts. Thanks guys.

so I've been coming into more money lately than expected, and my hours at work aren't getting cut so I'm starting to think I might fab up a mild little stealthy turbo kit and run really low boost to give myself a little extra kick. My fuel system can handle it so I don't see where there is any real issue. I'm looking around to see what I can come up with and if I can make it happen, I'm gonna do it.

My only issue is my compression, but at low boost and really conservative timing, we can make it work and I think 600 hp shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks myillwillinc. I give TJ a call tomorrow or Thursday. Do you know what his headers usually run for a set. Jan isn't far away.

whats your CR going to be? if its high your just asking for trouble to try and get a power adder to make 600hp with i high CR. id start planning on what you want now before you shoot from the hip. if you want to go FI then swap the piston and just do it right the first time so you can enjoy it when its all done! JMO!

no. stay 3v. If you want more beef, port your 3v heads. Put 3v heads on your 5.4 block.

link that voodoo adapter. i've not seen it yet.

It's 10:1, it's not ridiculously high, but a bit higher than I would want. I've been reading up on it and most say that's not too bad as long as I run low boost or get a meth kit. I could always sell off these pistons and get some different ones so I could run a lot more boost though.

If we had any gas stations around here that had e-85, I would set it up for that and not even worry about it. I've read of people running 15+ pounds of boost on 11:1 cr on e-85.

I think the safety of my block is going to depend on my tune and I have an awesome tuner.

R3D, I have no problem with the price of the longtubes with matching x-pipe. I think I had almost 800 in my BBK longtubes and x-pipe. What's 400 more dollars. It's nothing but money and we make it every day. I'm just trying to reach TJ and get name on a set. I left another message today. I am a patient person because not going to swap out motor till april. I have emailed once and called probably 5 times in last month. Recently, I have been thinking about a turbocharger instead of a supercharger. Does anyone know if TJ makes turbo headers or another company that makes such headers for the DIY turbo kit.

The Voodoo adapter is basically if you have an M122 and you want to fit it to a 5.4 2V motor..now of course if I wanna stay SC'd (while using my 3V heads) I need to found an adapter that will allow me to convert back to the eaton or the GT500 blower. may have to just sell the eaton and the m122 to get a 5.4 3V blower
