Default swapping 02 4.6l gt 5speed into my 94 v6 mustang

Before anyone tells me not to do it, I got the 02 gt (front end damage) for 400 bucks and the 94 v6 with a trashed tranny for 500 bucks. I have more than enough money to do this just looking for advice. My question is would it be easier to pull the the body off and swap the frames, or to switch everything out. Any advice is appreciated.

Theres no frame, its a uni-body car. You'll have to swap K-member's anyway, unless it got bent up in the wreck, then just switch to a tubular K-member.

Bolting everything in is not going to be hard. You need to swap the K-members like Morgan said. This is the engine cradle that bolts to the unibody on the front that holds the motor and steering rack and bottom half of the front suspension.

Other then that its all a swap over deal. You will want to swap out the weak stock 7.5" rear end out of the v6 as it will break with sticky tires and a hard launch.

The hard part is going to be wiring the whole thing up. You could do it the easy way and use an edelbrock single plan manifold with a MSD MOD6 ignition setup and this will make the swap pretty easy. Otherwise its going to me pulling the engine harness and ECU out and swapping it all over to the v6.

very doable and mostly a time consuming job. But for the small investment you have, you could have a really fun car for pretty cheap.

Oh, also the brakes on the GT are a better unit then the ones on the older 94-98 mustangs and it will bolt right onto the v6.

Dont know why you think you will be paying euro...I always ordered my parts from the states and just ate the shipping costs. That site above has almost all active mustang enthusiast who are stationed in germany and england. Oh and nothing sucks about being stationed in Germany, I loved it there...sucks living in Arizona though.

oh eww. I never did pay labor while I was in germany. People were nice enough to help me at the hobby shops. Sucks if you dont have time to do it on your own saves a lot of money for better things, like beer and *****.

Peter Schropp is getting a lot of knowledge with mustangs and he is located just outside of Stuttgart. If you run into problems he may be some help.

In all honesty this really is a straight-forward swap. drop the entire drive train outta the 02 GT, it'll almost be like dropping the frame outta an older car. your literally gonna want the entire suspension and drive train outta the GT. take the cooling system and AC also. then your gonna want to yank most of the wiring harness out also. including ECM and instrument cluster. oh yeah, also the fuel system, cause the earlier V6 is gonna be a return style, and the 02 GT will be return-less. so you'll want the pump, tank, and fuel lines outta the GT.
unbolt the strut towers from the fenders, take the 4 bolts outta the k-member, drop the tranny brace, and unbolt the struts from the rear fenders. bingo, disconnect the wiring harnesses and hoses, and you can lift the body off the drivetrain.

actually, alot of shops are dropping the drivetrains out the bottom of the cars to do motor work, cause its alot easier to drop the motor out than pull it out.
