car is blowing white smoke from the tail pipe

change your oil. if your oil looks like a chocolatemilk shake, its a blown head gasket probably.

I would bet that your plastic intake has finally cracked. When mine finally gave it was leaking outside on top of the block. When my brothers went it was leaking on top of the Cop causing cyn3 problems. It just depends where it cracks but if you still have the cylinder 1 plastic intake runner thats most likly the issue.

i always look on the bright side of things, i figure if its 1200 hundred for head gaskets i mine as well just put a whole pi motor in there, i checked under my car for leaks and theres nothing, so im going to change the oil tommrow morn and well see from that

White smoke can also be the result of unburnt fuel hitting the cats and vaporizing. If you oil doesn't look like chocolate milk and your car isn't overheating or loosing coolant, check to see if you can hear a gurgling/boiling sound inside your cats. Boiling gas under your *** is a scary proposition. Raw, unburnt gas will wash down the cylinder walls, corrode your piston rings and essentially trash your engine. You'll know for sure if that is the case if you happen to see a bluish tint to the white smoke coming out of the exhaust. That would indicate oil is leaking past the piston rings into the cylinders and getting burnt.
This happened to my GT, which was caused by a failed TPS sensor and corrupted PCM and I'd have to say, this is a worst case scenerio and requires a new/rebuilt engine to fix.

I wonder!
If its mainly happening when you start up I would bet its a stuck or broken lifter. That happened to my wifes camry ( smoked like hell on start up but then ran fine). Her dad who is a mechanic by trade said something alnog the line of... When the lifter is stuck open at shut off, the oil is free to run down and settle on the piston. Start the car... it burns off....= white smoke. But.... I have been wrong before

describe this "****" smell...does it smell like sulfur? (rotten eggs)

or sweet smelling? If it is sweet smelling it is coolant. If is is sulfur odor, then I think it is a cat problem, but i am not sure.
