Default Dodge Announces Challenger Pricing

$37,995 for an SRT-8. not too shabby. a little cheaper than the Shelby GT500.

but like the Shelby GT500, im sure there will be dealer markup.

they always do. but once they initial crazy wears off, and the prices come back down...that won't be too bad.

i can't wait to see one in person.

yeah but that's 425 to the CRANK. i'd be surprised if it put 330 to the wheels. plus im sure the thing weighs 5000+ lbs. if we're talking modern american muscle I'd much rather have a termy or a c6.

plus that engine isn't made for boost. you'd probably have to spend a **** ton on internals n what not. by the time your done you could almost own a c6 z06 or a termy with 20 grand in mods.

I dunno... i respect any engine that can push 425 non added.

and why would you assume it couldnt handle boost? if it holds 425hp as is, u can bet yer *** the internals would be good to at LEAST 600hp

that is if they can sell the goddamn heavy bitches.

lol...

My buddy was really hoping to get one. I told him the 38k price before dealer markup and he got all pissed.

lol...

The funny thing is yer gonna have the Chargers, Challangers, and Camaros all duking it out for the 45k price tag beating the **** out of eachothers sales while the 25k Mustang sails by with virtually NO american competition.

If the 09's are really gonna pull 350hp the weight difference between the stang and the fatasses is gonna keep the mustang neck to next down the 1/4 mile.

there are really a lot of evo guys that love drag. infact the two biggest names in evo performance (Buschur and AMS) all brag about their turbo kits hitting 9s and 10s sometimes on stock internals. drag is a cool display of power, but IMO autox (and related) are a cool display of driver skill.

The challengers are cool looking cars, but I agree that the price will be much higher when it actually comes out. The car is way too damn heavy and 425hp is a nice number, but it needs it to get the car movin. I would like to see how it handles.
