I'll be the first to be negative.

The Challenger looks great. The 6.1L Hemi is a great motor. However, the platform engineering sucks ***. The Challenger has shed no weight compared to its sedan brethern, and weighs 4100lbs. As such, even with its bragging rights HP numbers, it only runs a 13 flat stock.

It won't last as a Mustang competitor without a diet.

Leave it dead. We don't need anymore dodge drivers on the road.

I am not a fan of the whole bringing back every muscle car...I thought the GTO was alright but then the charger and now the challenger..The charger dosent even look like a muscle car and they are slow..I dont think they should bother or call it something else

I think that they never should have 'brought back the GTO' without actually doing any work. It is exactly a Vauxhall Monaro with pontiac badges in the grill. I like what they have done with the Challenger, actually made it look retro with things like headlights, and two ****ing doors , not just a funny looking C-Pillar to be nostalgic. Mind you, i think the Charger R/t and SRT look kool, they just dont look like their names. The GTO could have been so much more.. and i do think you are right, these cars need to shed some weight fast because they cost way to much to be so slow and heavy...

me and a guy i know who is a dodge lover big time (he's own dodge trucks, an srt-4 and is back to a truck) were comparing the challenger vs the 07 shelby.. i told him the shelby should be the fastest car under 40K like they've been saying forever.. he thinks the challenger will be.. i dont see how at 4100lbs. i dont really care for how it looks. shelby > challenger

I like the challenger I think it looks kick ***..and I would take a 6.0L GTO in black. I don't like the looks of the charger though.

Come on you cant be that dumb.

Viper - Sports Car
SRT-4 - Best Sport Compact
SRT-8 Ram - Only remaining hipo truck
SRT-8 300, Charger, Magnum - Best performing large sedan for the price by far
SRT-8 Cherokee - Best performance SUV for the $$ by far

I dont claim to be a dodge fan but they kick the **** out of Ford for performance cars. All we have left is the 300HP GT Mustang, over priced Ford GT, and the upcomming Shelby which is a bad *** car.

The charger imo is great looking, yeah maybe a tad heftly but finalized specs arent out yet.

Well I haven't posted here in a while so here goes.

The mustang has never died it has lived on forever!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes but there was the Mustang II years. Every muscle car from the 70s died off with the exception of the Mustang and until recently Camaro and Firebird. This of course all depends on your definition of "Muscle car." I always thought the catagory of what a Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, Challenger, and Barracuda fell into was "Pony" cars.

Don't get me wrong I love my Stang but I will probably be getting a Challenger when they come out if I can afford it. I don't race my car and I won't race my Challenger if I get it. I am a Mopar guy at heart, I like Ford and I detest Chevy and most import cars. I love that it looks like the old Challengers because that is my dream car, a '70 Hemi Challenger. Since I don't have a hundred thousand dollars this will be close enough. I hope they don't change a thing except maybe shed a little weight and get some nicer wheels.
