Stang is gonna be gone Tuesday.. Need opinions.
Ok guys.. Sold the car today ($5,000), will be meeting the buyer Tuesday to exchange Title and Cash.. I need to find another car now.. BTW: I have a car to drive until I make my decision...
I can't really decide on what I want to do..
I have the opportunity to buy my moms Explorer Sport Trac It's an '01 and has about 90,000mi. 4-Wheel drive, sport edition, bed cover, cargo rack, tinted windows, vent visors, all power, 4.0L etc...
I'd like to have a truck, but I'd also like to have another Stang.. So what should I do? Im a little apprehensive, especially since the '09 V6's are supposed to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 260HP..
So, Truck, or New Edge GT?
I can't really decide on what I want to do..

Well...are you going to utilize a truck? I mean.. put things in the bed of it and haul **** around..or are you just going to do it for the looks.
Cause basically..I wouldn't buy a truck and pay the insurance and the gas unless i'm going to actually use it.
The mustang..remember..its like..another year before the 09s come out (since they come out in 08)
Benefiets of a new car: Credit goes up, More power on a v6, and if you wait that long..and save the cash up..more money for mods
I like trucks and all.. I've got a F250 sitting in my parking lot..but the only time I'm driving it is when I'm hauling something or I have more then 1 passenger.
But..just say screw it, buy a Suzuki GSXR 750, some damn good leathers, and call it good ;x

why not get yourself a foxbody and a used pickup. You can buy both for less than 5K, and have enough left over to buy some hot rod parts for the fox.
Face it... you'll never be happy with no stang, a slow pickup or a fast honda. Take a 4cyl fox and build yourself a 514cid fulton built big block with 3 stages of nitrous. Make the pickup your whippin/shootin car and abuse it till the next stang is done.
Foxes are stupid cheap to hot rod, they're plentiful, they're cheap to buy and they're lighter than SN95+ by several hundred pounds right out of the box. If you get a v8 fox then you'll save on some hassle filled parts but I'd start with a complete strip and only add the parts the car needs to go faster.

The V6 Mustang is expected to get a new 3.5-Liter engine based at 260-280 horsepower. This new design 3.5-Liter engine is being tested in Ford’s Australian line and with modifications should make its way into the United States. With this power output, the 2009 V6 Mustang may run times faster than most earlier GT models.
To power the 2009 Ford Mustang GT, Ford will either stick with the current 4.6L 3-valve V8 engine, or upgrade to the 4.6L 4-valve V8 and possibly the 5.4L 4-vavle V8 engine. With the growing fuel crunch, how is ford supposed to market a larger and more powerful powertrain?
Ford will go with DOD (Displacement on Demand) technology, an innovation that, at cruise rpms, can shut down 4 of the 8 cylinders to drastically improve fuel economy, but at higher rpms, the computer will throw the car back into power mode! Overall horsepower is again expected to be at or above the 300 mark, and wouldn’t it be nice to have 300 horsepower at 30+mpg?
