Default Possible new car?

I was just informed of a 1995 Mustang GT for sale for $2,350. This is his final price as he was asking $2,700. This car has over 200k on it, but still runs strong. Yes, I will probably pull the motor, but it is a lot more along than my other race car project, mainly cause this one runs.
Anyways, is this too much for a car that will end up as a race car?
Only other thing about it I don't like is the sunroof.
BTW, I bring this up because the current fox I have is in need of a 302, T-5 and 8.8 which buy itself, will run me close to $1,500 just for decent rebuildable stuff.

Thanks for the offer but that won't work for my '88 or if I decide on the '95 it wont work for it.
