i found a 1990 Cavalier for sale. the guy bought it from a police auction. salvage title. rust on the rocker panels/bottom doors. 4 cylinder. 106K miles. he says it runs great, i want to check it out in person. he wants 400, i will offer 300, because of salvage title and rust. Edmunds pricing says around 300 for private party for average condition for the mileage. i have cash, so i think he will take it with 300 bucks waving in his face. with the mileage my dad's Celebrity 4 banger gets, i will be happy with this 2 door cavalier. i need gas mileage now. the mustang is nice, but it's a gas hog, and i won't be able to afford it at the moment. the car should have the "iron duke" 4 cylinder motor. the damn thing's bulletproof. BUT...rust prone. but that's what pick and pull is for!

 

You should look into a motorcycle. Super cheap to operate and its fun to drive. Of course you can't use it in the winter where you live though which sucks.

Looks like a good snow beater though.

 

i would do the motorcycle thing, but they completely suck in the wintertime. the reason for my DD is wintertime. so that kinda rules out the motorcycle.
