Default SCT chip

My next mod is going to be the SCT chip for my 97 GT...a couple questions though

I want to get one setting which will be my "race mode" setting, meaning i want my car maxed out with all of my modifications.

I also plan on getting nitrous (not any time soon though), so will i need another setting burnt for this setup??

How does this work now...will i have to buy the custom burnt chip the way i want it for race mode...then once i actually get the nitrous, send the chip back to get another bank burnt for this setup???

So, will i need to buy a 2 bank chip in the first place...or just a single bank because I'm only getting one bank burnt in the first place, until i get the spray..

Also, does anyone know where i can get a switch to flip between modes for my 97?? ive seen them for 99+'s...but not my year yet??

and your good to go.

The chip comes with a selectable switch. It has 8 positions on it....4 are not used. Where you install the switch is up to you. You can get some nice switch plates. Mine is installed right where my cig. lighter used to be.

I have my SCT switch using the MT coin holder switch.
It looks very clean and like it belongs there....eveyone that has been in my car doesnt even notice it. I had one person ask.."whats that"? then I would tell em..

they dont look like *** at all ...

Get one setiing For the "race mode" using 93 octane fuel ONLY!
Get one setting for regular driving using 87 octane ONLY!
remember to use the correct setting for the gas you have in the car at the time. dont get the Nitro tune yet though. like stated above...find a good dyno place that can burn SCT chips. Have them custom tune your nitrous tune using the dyno. People get the best result using an actual dyno tune.

I had my car dyno tuned with the SCT chip. settings 0-2 are all tuned for my mods and race ready using 93 octane, with timing advanced. (so im always ready to race pretty much... with each setting with a 1-step rev limiter. and my 3 position is a 4:10 gear position for when I do get my 4:10's yay. so I wont have to worry about getting my speeda calibrated when they are in.
