Default whats wrong with my car???

well i was driving home last night i was about 20 minutes from home and all of a sudden i started hearing and feeling a loud clunking. it didnt happen when i was applying the gas pretty hard but every time i went into neutral it like flipped out and started doing it again i pulled over checked all the wheels and looked under the car and under the hood for sumthing out of the ordinary but nothing. i think its either the axels or maybe even the tranny. idk either way this blows big time im really ticked off about this i just hope its nothing too serious oh and depending how much this costs it may be
BYE BYE GEARS AND TUNER please help
thanks max

Could be several things, how many miles do you have, any recents mods? Dont rule out the driveshaft, the ujoints could be bad, any vibrations? Is the noise coming from the front or back.

Check your wheels again, you could have picked up a bolt. If not, check to see if the weights are on you wheels and druveshaft since one of those could have fallen off.

it only doesnt happen when under moderatly hard acceleration or pretty hard braking pretty much any other time it does it no matter if im in gear or in neutral. and yeah it does vary with the speed of the car.
