Default Gas additives

I have noticed a wide arrange of gas additives whilst browsing all sorts of stores, even grocery stores. Items such as octane boosters and all that. I dont know if i would ever use those, but does anyone know if the engine cleaner ones are worthwhile? If so, is there a specific brand of gas additives that are good for your engine?

Yeah they are all mostly high blends of methenal. top engine cleaners burn off (via vacuum lines) carbon deposits in your car and when you run it through your gas tank, it burns off gas varnish deposits and cleans injectors.

most of those additives contain nothing but alcohol or an alcohol by product, nothing but snake-oil, waste of money.
most fuels today contain enuff additives that adding anymore can cause other problems.
also as an FYI, since 1992 FoMoCo has used deposit resistant fuel injectors. so again, don't waste your $$ on this stuff.

I have used Seafoam on some of my older cars and it really made a difference . Increased power and better idle. I feel its the only one that makes somewhat of a difference. Just dont overuse!
Here's the tutorial.

Well just for kicks, i bought some Fuel Injector cleaner. So far ive noticed that it made my starts much nicer, i used to have to crank it for a long time, now its pretty quick. Surprised me. Not a bad deal for under 5 bucks

Whatever.

So long as my car runs a little better now, which it does, then it is worth it.
