Default Tire question.... go figure!

Ok well my last payment for my college classes has cleared so now I can get the new tires for my wheels that have been sitting in my basement for 4 months. Now do y'all think upfront i should put 255/40/17 or 275/40/17s up there? For the back i already know I'm putting 315s back there/ But, what is a good tire to get? I normally buy BFG KDWs but they don't make those in 315s so what brand and type of tire should i get? I know at first i was gonna put drag radials on the back but decided to wait and find a 15in wheel to put some slicks on for the track. help me out!!! thanks

I would run 255's up front as I dont need the extra rolling mass or tire here. Tires.com or tirerack.com have good prices on tires. I like tires.com more though. Just rock the sumitos for the street and good DR's or slicks on the 15' wheels you will get for the back. Thats the real way to go about it.

275/40/17 front and a 315/35/17 in back.

Other than that, spikes right. For the money, sumitomo's are cheap and not altogether crap. Tirerack has great prices, so to does tires.com. Tirerack has 315/35/17 sumitomo htr z for 99 bucks right now. Pretty cheap tire.

if it's a 9" rim then you should use 275's or you're going to crown the tire and weaken it substantially at the sidewall. A 245 or even a 255 is not wide enough for that rim and aside from looking like *** it costs strength as well.

If you can afford nittos all around, I'd definitely do that. Most people are kinda cheap when it comes to tires so I don't even really think of them anymore. I loved the 555's when I had em. Very good tire. They make a 315/35/17 and a 275/40/17 in the 555's so you're in luck there too.
