Default Just installed my eibachs

Well I finally got lowered. Just put my eibach pro kit on last night. I love the drop. I also left out the front lower isolators. I couldn't believe the difference it made tonight when I compared it to my dad's non-lowered 01 GT. lol... I've been making fun of his 4x4 all night. heheh... Just a few pics...
before (4x4)...

all tore apart... it was hard but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be

Here's my garage pc setup. If you have an old pc you're not using put it out in the garage! I use mine everyday for pulling music off the network to listen to and quick how to's and stuff from the internet. It's really handy.

anyways back to the springs... lol

I have some 1" hub centric spacers for the rear wheels to get rid of the stupid looking gap. I'll be posting up some new pics in the next day or so. Plus I'm waiting on my tranny fluid to arrive so I can put the new MGW shifter in.

Thanks! No I didnt get any. I'm gonna get an alignment in a few days and see if I need them. I heard with the pro kit it's not necessary. I hope not anyway. lol...

YOU DID my friend! LOL!! Man I liked yours so much I had to have em. hehe.. My tie rod came out after some penetrating oil and a few hard smacks with a hammer. The first front I did took forever and the second was done in about 20 minutes. hehe.. OH and check this out. I was having trouble with those bolts on the rears lining up so I had to have my wife get under the car and screw the bolt in while I pushed it into place with my foot. LOL! I couldn't believe I actually got her to do that! hehe.. I guess it was the threat of me driving her vehicle if I didn't get it done. hehehe...

It's the big bolt connecting the a arm to the axle housing. I needed a long crow bar to line it up but didnt have one so my foot had to do. heh...

You only need to remove a total of 4 bolts in the rear. The 1 bottom shock bolt, and 1 quad shock bolt.

Heres my write up, http://www.dndgarage.net/springinstall.htm

you've got a healthy rake there. That will affect the balance of your car and let the rear get a little looser in corners. I'd drop the lower isolators from the rear and get a set of cobra front brakes. Dropping the rear a tad more will help the balance a lot. Bigger brakes will help make up for the extra forward weight transfer (and you should have them already.... )

R3dneck - I like the raked look but if it's gonna be dangerous I may change it. I may just take out one of the rear isolaters too to balance it out and YES I do wanna do the cobra brakes in the (hopefully) near future. Car upgrade funds are all cashed out for a while says the wife. lol..

03GTMustang - I followed a different tutorial on stangnet. Your way seems easier though. The way I did it I just removed the rear swaybar which was 4 bolts and the a-arm bolts. Oh well I guess it's all good cause they're on now. hehe..

red, its not much of a rake...maybe a 1/4" to 1/2" lower in the front. that first lowered pic looks like it was on an incline

I to just install the Prokit the other day...I had Steeda Sports and wasn't to happy with the drop but the Eibach Prokit is sweet...you will need either caster camber plates or camber bolts with the Prokit if you want you alignment done to spec...and if you go with anything other than Maximum Motorsport CC plates you're making a mistake...imo

My car when I got it

Steeda Sports and a few mods later

Eibach Prokit and MM CC plates

Looks much better now with the eibachs. Those steedas still left a huge gap in your front wheel wells. The new drop looks MUCH better imo. I wonder if it has anything to do with the 6 cylinder over the v8's weight. Did you put all your isolators in on your eibachs? Man that is a nice lookin stang you got there.

Hey 02SilverBullitt what kind of springs are you running on yours?

Thank you for the compliments...Eibach makes the Prokit for v8s and v6s...I did the the Prokit for a V6...I used all isolators except the lower front where I used nylon reinforced rubber tube...not sure how much more that gave me but what the hell it was free

I got the Eibach Pro Kit on mine and I left the isolators in for fear of sqeaking noises! But Either way, I love the stance of my car and the performace it gives me now!

thanks man! Love your wheels man. I can't afford any right now so I have some 1" hub centric spacers for the rears. That will have to tide me over I guess. lol...

either that or just do what i did. Paint the stockers until you afford to buy the deepdish out back. The rims up front on my car are still the stock bullitts. Alot cheaper that way lol, but the spacers will still be sweet!
