I am in the process of writing a list of every single part i will need in order to do the head/intake/cam swap on my 97 gt. It is currently non pi. This is everything that i can think of, so if you guys know of absolutely anything else i will need to make the complete install PLEASE POST!!! thanks guys

Intake Gaskets
MPH 2.5 Heads
Head Gaskets
Head Bolts
Custom Grind Cams from MPH
Dyno Tune

that's everything i can think of so far, does anybody know anything else i will need???

I'll mention this one since it's not listed as a separate piece, uppper intake plenum.

yes you can. Also you will need to drain your coolante and dont think the oil has to be changed at that time. but the coolante has to be drained so the intake can come off.

okay well thats good to know i can still use my plenum...thanks, oh and spikeafrica i never knew i'd have to drain my coolant so that'll help me too!! but other than that, how does my list look??? i found a PI head installation kit sold by frpp so i think im gonna buy that, its only $100.

Just out of curiousity...how much hp do you think I'll be putting to the wheels once I'm done with this complete swap?? My list of mods are in my info... After the swap the only thing i'll be doing is getting my car chipped and dyno tuned, which i've never had done before.

You should see at least 250+ rwhp with that setup provided your bottom end is still good and tight and not too high on mileage.

I've seen them get as high as 300rwhp just off the swap but that was a freak. 250-280 with cams isn't unreasonable at all, and higher is likely with the cams... Your car will be very fast compared to now and in general.

I'll bet you see 295rwhp if you get a cam with a good hot grind... something like a XE268AH equivalent.

EDIT: If you get the cams on the aggressive side, you need to do the tune or it'll run poorly. I'd plan on having it tuned RIGHT AWAY especially since you're doing so much at once.

yeah, Tim from Modular Power House is going to grind me the biggest cams i can go while still keeping my car a daily driver. My car only has 38k original miles, so my bottem end is still top condition. And, the guy doing my install is also going to port/polish my plenum even more, do the complete install, then diablo chip and dyno tune it. I'm hoping to get atleast 300rwhp with this setup. It also helps that i already have l/t headers to get me more airflow.
