You can do it yourself, do a search on the forums for "shifter install" or "mgw install" and youll find a thread with pictures and an explination on how to do it.

It bolts right up. Very simple.

However I have used both an MGW and Pro5.0 and in my opinion the pro5.0 blows it away in performance and quick shifts. Although the MGW is a littl emore confortable. But that's just my 2cents.

I would try to feel both.

I did mine at deer camp in about 30 min. The only thing you need other than basic handtools is a silicon sealer, or get the shifter install gastkets.

Thanks... I have heard good things about the MGW, Tri ax, and Pro 5.0 so im not really sure which one i will end up getting. They will all make a huge difference over stock so its not too big of a deal.

MGW has the best rep with the high end guys. I have a Tri-Ax and other than the humming it's just what I figured it'd be. Just fine and short throwing. Pro 5.0 are just as good as a tri-ax. Find one cheap and let that be your guide. That's how I did it. A tri-ax was the first one I got a screaming deal on...

Default Im buying one so i need to know

OK guys so level with me here - is the tri-ax really the same deal as a pro - 5.0 - & is an mgw better?... I mean you get new 5.0's for 100 - tria x's for another 50 or mgw for 200 - so wut r the differneces? what is better and why - do they all have the bump stomps and all that also - which provides a shorter shift? - thanks

I was lookin around at the prices and the MGW is 180 and the Tri AX , from here, with an FRPP **** is only 190. I was gonna get a knew **** anyway... is the MGW good enough to pay the extra money for a new **** or should I just go with the package.

I think the tri-ax is just a UPR part with the steeda logo and part number. They're all the same pretty much. MGW is high quality, a unique design and lets you place the shifter closer to where you want it. Tri-ax, UPR, Pro5.0 ... blah blah.. as long as it's shorter shifting who cares among the latter group.

i was able to use both the pro 5.0 and the tri-ax before I bought my shifter, and i disagree. I could feel a big difference between the two. The tri-ax was a lil softer feel, not as solid and sturdy feeling like the 5.0, and the tri-ax had vibrations similar to stock shifters. Hence why I went with pro 5.0. If I could choose today, it would be one hell of a choice between the MGW and the Pro 5.0.

I did them all too.. the tri-ax I have is as tight and smooth as I'd ever want. No wiggles... really feels nicely machined.. The pro5.0 has a better handle for me.. so I use one, but I couldn't tell any difference between the two when I was shopping. hopefully I just got a nice example of the tri-ax. The MGW didn't get considered because I got my Tri-Ax for 1/2 price thanks to some dude getting the wrong one.

i would also like to point out what type of trans you have also makes a BIG difference in feel. my freind has/had a 99 GT w/T-45 and steeda tri-ax, he didnt really like the tri-ax do to that, he got in my car shifted it a couple times and said what shifter you got? it feels different than mine. he couldnt beleive it was the tri-ax it felt more solid to him in my car than the same brand shifter felt in his car. i have the T-3650 in my car.Maybe that might help you make a decision, too.
