Question Short Throw Shifter Install

In the instructions I've seen it says to remove the shift **** off the shifter and then pull the entire console area out from the inside... I've wiggled it around and it's in there pretty good... what's the secret to getting that out?

Hard to explain, but what I did was take the know off, and then use both hands and push in the center with my thumbs while I pulled out. Should pop right out but not too far because of the traction control wires and cig lighter. Good luck man, pretty easy after that. Just be careful setting the stops.

Once you take the ring off that is around the bottom of the shifter as well as the ****, you just put your fingers in and just pull. It should just come off easily. If yours is 2000 and newer that is all you have to do. Put your fingers around the shift boot and pull it off.

Put the shift **** back on and pull it hard to the left or right you'll hear it pop and feel it.

THAT'S THE EASY PART JUST PULL WHERE THE LEATHER MEETS PLASTIC I put a PRO 5.0 on my 94 and man was that thing a pain to get the old shifter off. Be sure not to mangle that rubber boot or it'll be loud. I ended up having to put my car on a lift and knock it out from the bottom
