Default need opinions on ign. coils

need to replace all my coils, data stream at garage showing random multiple misfires, low output. Not enough to throw codes, but getting hesitation and stuttering under load.
So, question is, what do I go with. Accel, parts-store, Granatellis, MSD, or just OEM. I could also try and find a low mileage set used, but I am of the mind-set that if you are gonna replace something, go bigger, better, stronger, etc.

Any suggestions? Anybody using any aftermarkets?

I don't know too much about coils but I do know that the OEM product will provide plenty of juice until you start doing serious work under the hood. I also know that GMS is complete **** and MSD products are pretty damn good.

Personally I would just stick with new OEM coils; should be plenty for your and Motorcraft parts are excellent in my opinion.

OEM Motorcrafts for sure. There's no gain offered by any aftermarket coil, and I've seen the horrors of Granatelli and Accel COPs lasting about 4 months and going out.

If you aren't throwing any codes yet, I would suggest rebuilding the COPs you have now first, and see what that does for you. I had the same problems on mine, took it to Ford and had them do a load test on the coils, and they all came back good. I rebuild them with new springs and boots, and all the hesitation and studdering went away. It was like $5 each for the new springs and boots, and in my case, it was $40 well spent.

OEM has been proven good for alot of hp. No need for some aftermarket junk that will do nothing for you. Ebay has alot of sellers with new sets for around $100.

Get whatever is the best deal. If aftermarket is cheap (stay away from GMS), go for it. If not, stay w/ OEM.

well, I replaced the boots/springs on the COP's, and it is a major difference. It's like night and day. Car runs best it ever has, no longer gurgling fuel, much smoother idle, and gobs of power that was never there before. Thanx to all for the advice, and a HUGE thanx to Bullitt5339 for reminding me that those COP's can be rebuilt.
