Will it pass? I wouldn't add any mods to it until you pass it. I had to register my car at my other house in a small town, because I don't have any Cats.

Well, I don't know what laws in Indiana are, but here in Colorado it is the sellers responsibility to get the car to pass emissions. So what I would do is check your state's emissions website and see if the same laws apply there as they do here. If that's the case, remind the seller of the vehicle that it is their responsibility to do whatever is necessary to get that vehicle to pass emissions before being officially sold - including paying your emissions fee.

I actually live in Colorado now! Just moved to Longmont, and went through 800$ trying to get my GT to pass... So if I buy a Mach 1 from somebody they have to make sure its going pass, then I have to avoid mods that will make it fail. What do you have on yours in terms of exhaust?

Long tubes are less likely to pass emitions. But if I do a catted H-pipe will I be alright? Also, whats the advantage of cat back pipes? Exhaust really isnt my specialty, and I dont know what the difference between the differnt types... sorry noobish i know

Thats awesome! Yeah, I live right off Hover and 9th. You work at the one on airport road right? Magnaflow eh? How is that cost, performance, and sound wise?

It's alright. And all of that compared to stock? I don't know, it came with the car. I'd much rather have a Bassani setup, but can't afford it. And yeah, the place right next to the airport. I'm right over by McIntosh Lake, so it's nice and close. But if you ever see a yellow Mach around, that's me.

First mod should be a supercharger. Then after you've crashed it a few times, upgrade the brakes

If I had one I would make it breath better and change the rear gears out to at-least 4.10 gears, with 4.30's being better if your staying n/a.

Lol... WTF are you talking about? As long as it has an emissions that has not expired the seller doesent have to do squat.

ive bought and sold plenty of cars here. That is the first time ive ever heared that.

in fact, wanna buy a 2002 Saturn SL2? it has an extra set of tires, 146k on the odo, and is in fanastic condition.

lol

In Illinois it isn't the sellers responsibility to make the car pass. You can sell it as-is, as long as you notify the buyer of the vehicles condition. After that it's their problem.

In the state of Colorado it is the seller's responsibility to ensure that the vehicle in question passes emissions after a sale. So if a car is sold, and the buyer goes to get the emissions done on it and it fails it is the sellers problem to fix. I was wrong when I said "including paying your emissions fee". So with that last sentence just change "before" to after, and "including" to excluding. lol...I swear being exposed to so many raw gases starts to mess with you for after awhile.

Did he buy from a dealer? or third party? If it was a dealer he may have a decent lawsuit. Third party? Not so much (just because tracking third party sales accurately is next to impossible).

yeah private

i know dealers have to have thier **** right on the emissions before they sell the car. I just bought the wife a jeep grand cherokee and they gave us an emissions coupon and advised to get it done in 3 days, which we did.
