Question Tranny Swap 99 to 98 .. SpeedCal ??

First time Posting , Got a few questions ..

Installed a 99 Manual Tranny to my 98 (Manual)..

I understand the Speedo gear is Electronic in the 99 Tranny ?.. and if I connect right now my Speedometer is going to be way off..??

Will the Speed Cal correct this ? Has anyone does this and know what to set the SpeedCal at ?

What dip switches should I use if I put 4.10's in the rear end ?

Thanks for the help

Changing transmissions doesn't affect the speedo. The problem you have is your speedo is mechanical and the VSS is electronic on the new trans.

Can you explain mechanical ...

I am thinking when you say mechanical .. As if their is a speedo cable that screws into the transmission ... correct ?

But my 98 has 2 wires that connect to the vss unit

As in, there is a gear on the shaft that drives a gear on the VSS. The later model just has a reluctor wheel on the shaft and the VSS reads directly off that.

I know someone sells an adaptor to do this. Give me a day or two and I will find it. Unless you have not already bought the 99 tranny then skip it and get a T45 from a 96-98 car.
