Default Speedcal Question

I have my gears and Speedcal already but the gears don't get installed for about a week...Is it ok to hook up the speedcal now and just not touch the dipswitches, or do I have to wait till the gears are in. When I do install the gears I just disconnect the battery, adjust for the 4.10 gears and let the car idle for like 5 mins to learn the new setting right...I only ask because I have to install the speedcal on a weekend cause of work.

Yea, you can put it on now and just leave the switches set on I think all zeros or something like that. Look in the manual that comes with it, itll tell you.
