Default speedcal?

just last week i got 4.10 gears installed on my 97 gt. All that i purchased was the actual gears and the master bearing kit. My installer said that i should have purchased a speedcal...because my miles are going to be incorrect now with the gears? I definately didnt want this happening because my car only has 36k on it. How much do speedcals run, and are they even worth it?? how much are my miles going to be off???? thanks

yeah, your speedometer is off now because your tires are rotating differently than stock, so your mileage will definately be off.. I can't remember how much it usually is. You could either get a hand held tuner and the tune can bet setup to adjust for 4.10 gears which will fix your speedo and your mileage issue, of course that's more expensive than the speedcal but has more functionality too.

I agree...I would have gotten one myself but I was in a hurry to get the gears...The next couple things on my list are the Xcal2 a new exhaust.

Thats what I did, but do it quickly, because the miles add up fast.
