Default torque converter and fuel injectors

So...Ive got an 02 auto GT and this winter Im sending my heads into Anderson Ford Motorsport to get them ported. Along with this Im going to be installing new cams. Im goin with comp cam 270s. Comp cams recomends a 2000+ stall with this cam. I was wondering what stall would work best with this set up... and also what brand of converter.

I was also thinking about putting in larger fuel injectors. With this set up (plus my listed mods) would I be better off with stock, 24#, or 30#? Thanks

You will need a stall of at the min 3,200rpms if you ask me. 2vs dont make **** down low and those cams really pull hard on what is it 3,200rpms and up. However you should talk to someone like Darrin at BC-automotive they make some of best 4r70w converters out there.

I beg to differ. There's a reason why Ford kept the 2V version of the 4.6 in their trucks and it's not price.

Yeah with a different intake manifold its makes decent power down low ( I used to own a Hot Rodded 99 F150 with the 4.6 before I traded in on the mustang) however with our manifold and with those cams you need to get a good high stall. With 4.10's a stall around 3,200-3,400rpms with sticky tires would rip out of the hole.

I have a 3600 stall and 3.73's. I have revved it up to about 3400 with the procharger and it spun pretty bad but sure did suck me back into my seat. I can only imagine what it would feel like if I warmed up the nitto's.

Strap some slicks on that baby. Nittos arent that good unless your suspension is perfect.

Still when compared to 4V even w/ the 3V (way down low), the 2V does make great low-end grunt. But yes, w/ those cams it won't but you can't just say the 2V suck down low when the 4V is definitely not better.

Thanks for your imput on the converter guys. My buddy told me that this cam and a 3200 stall a little ridiculous on a summer time daily driver. Is this true? I do hit up the track several times a month when the cars not in storage.

Anyone on the fuel injectors????

I had a 3400 stall and VT stage 2 cams on my DD. Itll be awesome for a summer time DD.

Shouldnt be a need for injectors unless you're at 300+rwhp. Either way, let the tuner figure that out.

A converter will be fine for DD your car. There is not a whole lot of difference when cruising around until you go to WOT and it stalls up from a dead stop. I had a nice high stall converter in my DD 99 f150 with the 4.6 no problems at all.

I forgot about the injector question and 03gt is right you should not need new injectors with your mods. 19#ers or 22#ers as some say the pink tops are 22# who knows should be well enough to feed up to around 310rwhp. But if it does become a problem they can be swapped but don't spend the money unless you need them as they wont make you faster.
