Storage tips
Well the Mach 1 will be going in storage for the winter soon and I'm looking for some tips, this is my first time having to store a car over winter. In about 300 miles I'll need an oil change, I should definitely have that done before I put it up right? The car will be completely detailed inside and out. How much gas should I leave in it, or does that even matter? The storage units are local, how often should I stop by and start it up? I also plan on taking it out on the nicer days for a little drive.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I decided to post this in the lounge too because no one reads General Tech.

you might wanna get a battery charger to hook up to it so it keeps a good charge if possible. you guys kill me that store your cars in the winter, I know its bad in the winter in the colder climates...but geesh!

yeah really, I wish I had sec. car to drive and leave mine sit and get less miles, but no more room in the driveway and my wife would kill me!
driving 500mi a week sucks!
And these passed winters here in the carolinas have been rough the passed years, more ice than snow!

You can just unhook the batteries (the ground), we do it in all of our stored cars.

Add stabil to the fuel and fill it all the way up. Other then that and disconnecting the battery for the few months its going to be hanging out in storage there is nothing to worry about. If it was going to be a year or so then I would toss it on jack stands and do other things.

no that just means you have a company vehicle you drive or alternate transportation during the week

I only live 4 miles from my work. And any trips we take are in my wifes Chrysler, and I sleep most of the way there.. LOL..
