well, got off the phone with the adjuster and of of the 7 grand of my stuff that was taken, im only getting a check worth 4500 not including the 1000 dollar deductible, which made me not happy at all. i have all state at the moment but feel the need to look around on home insurance and want your feedback on what you have?

Farmers. Probably the biggest company in Cali. I'm slightly biased because I'm an agent, but they have the best Home owners policy hands down. Identity fraud coverage, theft coverage (REPLACEMENT COST, not depreciated value), earthquake, etc.. Ask for the "Next Generation" policy.

All State and State Farm are hurting pretty bad from the other agents I've talked to.

Let me tell you a little story:
Two years ago my neighors house was hit by lighting at 2:50 am. The strike was so loud that it woke everyone in the cul-de-sac up. Fire dept. shows up in about 10 mins. The family called their agent at appox.3:15 am. At 4:20 am thier State Farm agent was standing in the cul-de-sac with a check for one thousand dollars for hotel and clothing. They lost everything.

This would have been a hellava commerical. True story!!!! The rebuild process went along smoothly.

Needless to say I changed. I hope I never have to test them but its good to know that things worked out good this time.

P.S. He had to come appox.25 miles from across town.

I have State Farm for auto insurance and home owners insurance. Never had any problems with State Farm and I've had em for about 11 years now. Prices seem very reasonable as well.

Allstate. There's no company that's perfect for everyone. I've been very happy with allstate.
