Anyone hear about this? 6 people dead 18 injured, guy walked into a northern illinois auditorium with 2 hand guns and a shotgun and shot anyone he could. I would have expected to see a thread on it, a little suprised not to after the VT shooting. Maybe because it was in illinois. i was lucky to find anything on it on tv other than local stations

ya i saw it very briefly on cnn the day it happened. Funny how they'll show the hell out of one shooting, but not another.

 

its funny how they keep hounding his girl...jeez leave the girl alone....its not like she shot anybody....so what if she still loves him? guy was probably good to her...hell he was screwin her...why not show her the good side? the wacko did it and now hes dead...end of story....the reason these things keep happening is because they plaster the guys face all over everything and keep running meaningless stories like the girlfriend one....ITS WHAT THESE DICKS WANT!! to live forever in infamy...to get that 15mins....i would rather they print a small story and leave it alone...dont run the guys picture....dont print his poems...let him pass into hell as unknown as he was in life

 

Is stuff like this becoming more common place, or do you think the media is just showing more of it b/c it's sensational? either way, I'm thinking about packing heat anymore....

 

I'm a little surprised at the lack of news coverage. As sad as the media is, they might feel not enough people died for it to be a headline story for a week. Who knows.

Don't plaster them on CNN 24/7..don't give them that chance to be famous.

 

yea I saw about that just about right after it happened.. really effects you differently when its so close to home like that. I have quite a few friends that go there thankfully they are all alright. As for that so called "church" thats going to picket at NIU and the funerals those people are just a bunch of worthless f****** dip*****.

 

I agree with street and bakos. If they weren't putting it all over the news he'd still just be some nobody loser, now he gets his way and the next lunatic will think he can do the same thing to get famous.

 

I thought about that too. But say a guy shoots up 5-6 people, and doesn't make any sort of news. The next whacko that wants to make headlines is gonna up the notch a little higher, just to make sure. I don't think it matters though.. there's no way the media would ever avoid anything like this. It's what they live for.

And Dave, what was the deal with the church picketing? I didn't hear anything about it.

 

Maybe i the media decided school shootings are played out and yestrdays news and no longer cover them them maybe peoplw would stop shooting schools

yeah street its that Westboro cult. Makes me sick that they are doing this to the families and everyone else saying how they are happy these things happen. The cities have actually been coming together with many of the students. One of the towns had their snow plows lined up to block these people and their signs. They also declared they would picket at NIU tomorrow so hopefully the campus police just escort them off the property and send them back to Kansas.
