Okay, so, now I know why you all diss the V6 so much. But that's besides the point..

My friend at school has a 1995 Mustang 5.0 GT. And oh my god, OH MY GOD, bassini's and everything-- the noise alone set off car alarms in the garage. But anyway, he popped the hood to show me the difference between my V6 and his GT. I noticed that his cone for his intake was missing, so its just the white filter. He said "yeah I've known for a bit."

What he explained was the previous owner's boyfriend told her one day that "removing the cover to the cone would give the car more HP."

What gets me the most is that a.) I was pretty impressed and satisfied with the power already, b.) that the girlfriend believed her dumbass boyfriend and actually let him do it, c.) my friend has neglected it and left it alone for the two years he's had the car.

I'm trying to upload a picture to the net to show you, so bare with me.

well the box is restrictive to a point, but it draws in cooler air instead of warm engine bay air without the box. most cold air kits use a mixture of both to get more air in, but they also draw from the engine bay and fenderwell area.

more air + more fuel = more power.

He mentioned about having to continously clean a fragile sensor because of it.

mass air flow sensor because his filter is losing oil on it. his filter needs to be cleaned and lightly oiled, instead of drenched. I had a k&n that I recleaned and DIDNT oil and still had issues with oil getting on my MAF.
