Wow, what a great saturday for college football. I watched a little of the Ohio st. vs Michigan game, but my friends and I cruised down to LA for the USC vs Cal game. What an amazing college football experience. The tailgating was amazing and all of the USC tradition was just mind blowing!

WaterDR.... pictures are for you my friend. Bring on Notre Dame

I read somewhere that if USC beats Notre Dame and UCLA they will easily jump ahead of Michigan and even Ohio State on some computer polls....I think it has to do with strength of schedule or something like that. We played Arkansas and Nebraska early on and now we are playing Notre Dame....doesn't get much tougher then that for a non-conference schedule

Yeah that is what I have heard as well, but to be honest imo if USC wins out they should be in the title game. Their schedule was brutal.

USC played not only a descent Pac 10 Schedule but also Nebraska, Arkansas, and Notre Dame in the non-conference.

Besides I dont think its fair to Ohio State to have the play the same great team two games in a row. Its very hard to beat a good team twice in the same season.

For me I kinda hope that USC loses to Notre Dame big time and then in my wish list the Rose Bowl would be USC vs Michigan and then the title game would be OSU vs Notre Dame. (Yes i know that ND has no shot at the title game but it would be cool to see Brady vs Smith the heisman battle)

I'm not sure that there is a heisman race, I think Smith pretty much locked it down after beating Michigan. To be honest, I'm not sure who could beat Ohio State. As a USC fan I would love to see them play for the national title, but I'm not sure this year is our year.....we have an extremely young team so USC isn't going anywhere for the next few years.

USC has no chance of passing OSU in the polls. No matter if they win the rest of there games or not. They lost a game, and they haven't played anywhere near as hard of a schedule as OSU has. OSU also has beaten 90% of the teams they played by 14+ points.

There also will not be a rematch between OSU and UM in the NC game. The computers will pit those two together, but I don't think there is any chance that there will be enough votes to do so. I think Michigan is the 2nd best team, and I think they could beat any team in the country other than OSU. I think the BCS needs to redo their bowl system and they should do a bracket style playoffs and the winners of each conference would play each other in a seperate bracket to determine the players in the NC game.

I think the 2 most probable teams to play OSU in the NC game would be USC or Florida. Although they are great teams, I don't think either of them can put up a fight like Michigan did, but never the less it'll be a great game.

OSU does not have a tougher schedule than USC.

USC plays - #5 Notre Dame, #6 Arkansas, #19 Cal, #22 Nebraska, as well as a previously ranked Oregon and UCLA

OSU plays - #2 Michigan, #13 Texas, #25 Penn State and thats about it.

Actually Michigan has a great chance to make it, basically if USC does not win out then Florida has to bitch slap Fla State and Arkansas to leap UM.

Like I said before if USC wins out they are in, Florida has to win out and hope they can pass Michigan and that USC loses.

Notre Dame, Arkansas, and WVU are done, even if they win out they will not jump Michigan, they are too far back.

That's my prediction.

I still don't think they're be enough votes to place UM in the NC game. It would be rediculous to have a rematch.

[QUOTE=04DarkShadowGT;225819]OSU does not have a tougher schedule than USC.

Exactly......I did say I read somewhere that USC possibly could pass Ohio State in some of the computer polls, but there is no shot in hell USC would be ranked ahead of Ohio State for the #1 spot...assuming they win out.

As for the schedules being tougher....yeah USC has a tougher schedule. The 6 toughest schedules in the nation have been played by pac 10 teams according to the BCS computer polls...and believe it or not in the computer polls Stanford who is 1-9 has the toughest schedule in the nation. Ohio State, depending on what poll you look at has between the 27-30th toughest schedule....michigan according to the polls has the 8th-12th toughest schedule. (each poll is a little different). USC's schedule is between 1-8th toughest in the nation.

With all of that said I'm not sure that USC can hang with Ohio State....but hopefully they will play and we'll find out. As for Michigan, USC spanked them in the 2004 Rose Bowl! ha ha

I don't think OSU and Mich should play again. They did already. They would not be fair to OSU if they loose. Think about it...if OSU looses to Mich, what does that prove? Whos is the nat Champ then? They both beat eachother.

Remember, FSU won the National Champ once over ND eventhough ND beat FSU during the season. They both were one-loss teams.

The NC game should be either Florida or USC. If USC looses to ND, then it shoudl be Florida. Problem is, if ND beats USC, this could force a bowl game with Mich and ND and I don't think anyone wants to see them play again.

BTW, I say NO PLAYOFF SYSTEM. As bad as this is, a playoff system would be much worse. The strategy would now become getting to the playoffs and team would bench players once it looks like they have play-off bids locked-up.
There are LOTS of problems with a college play-off system but nobody ever talks about it because they always harp on the current system.

If Notre Dame beats USC then USC would play Michigan in the Rose Bowl assuming UM didnt make the title game either. The Rose bowl still has ties to the Pac 10 and Big 10 and will take teams from those conferences unless it is the NC game that year.

That is somewhat true...if USC loses then they will for sure go to the Rose Bowl, but if they win out then they will go to the NC game....then since the Pac 10 Champion will be in the NC game, what teams does the Rose Bowl pick to play? Michigan, but I don't think it has to be another team from the Pac 10 I don't think. I'm pretty sure the Rose Bowl can chose the team if the Pac 10 Champ goes to the NC game. Yeah, it would make sense to have a Pac 10 team in the Rose Bowl because the fans will for sure travel to the game, but I sure as hell don't want to see Michigan and Cal play....the Rose Bowl will come up with a better team for michigan to play....assuming USC wins out.

Having a common enemy can make for strange bed fellows - lol

Any way you look at it, it is going to be a mess. There are soo many factors. What aggrivates me a bit though, is that I belive some of the voters rather then voting for the teams in the proper order are tainted by bowl predictions.

Unless OSU plays Mich (which I hope doesn't happen), OSU is going to stomp their oponent. In reality, I would love to see USC and ND play this year in bowl, but it would be stupid since they play this week.

Also, this week will bring surprises. There will be upsets as there always are and by this time next week we will be discussing a different set of circumstances.

Wow, what a game between USC and Notre Dame.....the only shot Notre Dame had was before opening kick off! I think the USC's defense was just too fast for ND. I also think we saw the effects of a good Notre Dame team playing a few crap teams before a big game with top notch players. USC finally starting to put it all together with a very young team that isn't going away for a few more years. The UCLA game this weekend isn't going to be easy. This is our rival team, but every game is like a rivalry game for us. After seeing what we did to Notre Dame I honestly think we can take Ohio State.....hopefully we see that match up!

I didnt word my statement very well. What I meant to say was that if USC lost and UM didnt make the title game they would both be in the Rose Bowl. But whichever team does not make the title game will be in the rose bowl for sure. Then the other is an at large selection. Cal has zero shot at any BCS bowl game.

My guess at this point would be

Ohio State vs USC - Title Game
Michigan vs LSU - Rose Bowl
Fla/Ark winner vs Notre Dame - Sugar Bowl
Ga Tech/Wake vs Louisville - Orange Bowl
Oklahoma/Neb vs Boise State - Fiesta Bowl
