just offered a sponsorship...
my old car club (which i still hang out with) was just offered a full club sponsorship. they offered two levels of sponsorship to our club.
1, club sponsorship - they will do $5k worth of work to each car at this level. any kind of work we want from body kits to motor work or whatever. we would have to go to 8-12 (in state) big time car shows like dub or HIN in a 1 year period. they pay for all entry fees and if the show is too far away they will trailor the car there for us.
or 2. individual sponsorship - $8k-$10k worth of work, whatever we want same as above but we have to go to 15-22 shows a year and a most of them are out of state like the texas heat wave in houston.
most of the shows are going to be truck shows but all will have classes for everything like mustangs, import cars and whatever. some of them break mustangs down by year.
im thinking this is a great deal so far. im meeting with the representative tomorrow night along with some people from my club to see what he says and if there are any drawbacks about this. basically my understanding is they are going to do all of this work for us and write it off as advertising. they want all of us to go to the car shows and set up at their booth. and when we win best of show or best club or whatever their name will be there. it's only going to be a small logo on the side windows. they have basically everything in house from an airbrush artist and 2 regular painters bunch of mechanics, audio, everything. i dont know the name of the company yet.
my car club is the longest running car club is west palm beach, and one of the best. a bunch of the cars have been in magazines already.
what do you guys think? is it worth it for $5k worth of work to have to go to 8-12 import and truck shows and whatever? lol. kinda dumb question.

Hell yeah its worth it, thats a free supercharger basically.

Yeah, but do you have the time to fulfill the commitment? Have you taken into account out of pocket costs for travel...hotel, food...ect......There is a lot more to it than just getting some free mods.

Statistics say... HELL YEAH! And be sure to give me a buzz when you're coming to houston

What are you waiting for again?I was in over 10 Car Shows last fall.

Think it over long and hard. That is a LOT of time and dedication. figure, 8 weeks or more of your life, in the next year.

thats what i was thinking... but everything is paid for. car is trailored there. hotel paid for.. i would have to pay for food and anything i do on my own time.
i dont think i would have time to do the individual sponsorship with 15-22 shows a year mostly because the're out of state but 8-12 instate i could do with no problem.
DarkSith, i would love to slap on a supercharger but that would use up almost the whole $5k.
and mug you know if i were around that area with my car i'd be calling you up because i want a pic of our two cars together.. lol.

Do your research and make sure its not a scam. Read the fine print in the contract.
