So with one wee until kickoff, it should be a pretty exciting season. I plan on going to all the home games for the Iowa Hawkeyes (grandpa has season tickets). Game of the year for the Hawks will have to be the Ohio State game at Kinnick. Its going to be soooo loud that night.

1 Ohio State (35)
2 Notre Dame (10)
3 Texas (8)
4 Auburn (3)
5 West Virginia (6)
6 USC (3)
7 Florida
8 LSU
9 California
10 Oklahoma
11 Florida State
12 Miami (FL)
13 Louisville
14 Michigan
15 Georgia
16 Iowa
17 Virginia Tech
18 Clemson
19 Penn State
20 Nebraska
21 Oregon
22 TCU
23 Tennessee
24 Arizona State
25 Texas Tech

ESPN has USC and Ohio State playing in the national championship game, but to be honest, and I'm a loyal USC fan and have been for years but....I not sure that we'll make it through the season without a couple of losses....but, everyone is saying without Leinart and Bush we are nothing, but let me tell you, we get 5 star recruits EVERY year and so we'll be just fine! And our receiving core...forget about it, best in the nation!!!

Notre Dame is going to be good, but they have a crazy tough schedule and their defense will suck like it did last year. They have a great offense.

Texas and Ohio State are going to be really good. Ohio State lost A TON of players last year and their defense might be suspect, but their offense might be good enough to keep them in it. Texas, they have a freshman QB so that's their downfall....but everything else is pretty good.

You know who we need to watch out for and I hate saying this, but California....they have a top notch running game and have a lot of returning defensive players. If they can go into Tennesse the first game of the season and win we'll know they are for real.

What I like about this years college football season is it's not cut and dry....we knew USC was going to be in the national championship game last year, but this year I don't feel like there is 1 team that is hands down better than other schools...It's going to be a great season!

As an ND alum with a bro who played for the Irish, well, you know how I feel. But, I am also a realist. I love college football, no matter who is on top.

My thoughts on the Irish are that that offensive is likely to be amazing. The question is, will 50 points each game be enough of a lead for the defense, I don't know.

The defense should be a lot better this year. They have some seriously amazing freshman in the deep defensive positions. My brother who is a former wide receiver (graduated a few years ago) was recently at a closed practise and mentioned that the recruiting class is unlike anything he has ever seen.

ND does have a rough schedule. They open on the road to GT, then face PSU, and Mich. Most experts are predicting 2-1 with a loss to Mich.

One thing for sure about college FB, the preseason means nothing. There will no doubt be surprises in the first few weeks that will turn things upside down.

I just moved from PA after living there for 13 years. We love PSU is our house....now don't get me wrong, I would never root for them over ND, but we like to see the blue and white win otherwise.

Regarding college aps, I hope you are not putting all your eggs in one basket. Backup plans are a must.

God I'm still pissed at the national championship game....how on earth with USC blow that! I can't stand Vince Young ever since he did his little heisman thing after winning the game (note to Vince...the heisman voting wasn't even close dude). But if they can get their QB going it's very possible they could end the season playing in the national championship game.

I think this year is going to be great because I'm not sure there is going to be any team that goes 12-0. The schedules are tough this year so it's going to be exciting to watch!

Louisville has a shot at 12-0. They have about two real games and the rest are cream-puffs. They somehow got ranked 13 in the pre-season with that dam schedule of theirs.

As far as Vince doing the Heisman pose, that never bothered me. He is just a kid and was excited. Sure, he didn't win the trophy, but he can always say that he beat the guy that did get it.

I don't know man, they have a crazy tough schedule, and they won't get by USC in our house! MT's#1Customer mentioned Louisville will have a great shot at 12-0, but their weak schedule will hurt them. I think this year will have lots of BCS controversy because I don't think there will be any undefeated teams. I mean that's just my thought, but who knows what will happen.

Looks like a pretty boring 1st week....stupid match-ups as usual. No team in the top 20 lost (I don't think). It always amazing me at the dumb-**** games the first week. Let's see, USC Played who? North Eastern Nebraska Nearest the Southern Border. PSU played who? Easthern Methodist University of the Floating Repubic or Turkey. Come on, guys, give me a break.

GT game to play ND, that's for sure. ND better step up with all that talent and score more then 14 points a game. ND won plain and simple 'cuz they just tired-out GT. GT blitzed all night and just ran out of steam. Nest week, PSU and then Mich for the Irish.

I have been a hard-core OSU fan for years and I'm glad to see that we've been put at number 1. I realize that we lost 9 of our 11 defensive starters (7 which were drafted and 5 which were drafted in the first round ) but we still have a pretty strong D and our offensive is too hott this year.

Miami and FSU at half time only 160 yard offense total between the two teams. Talk about a Defensive battle.

And Texas may be without 1 of their starting DBs and one of the second stringers for this saturdays game, they got busted last night, DUI, possession of a controlled substance (pot), and a loaded gun in the lap of the driver...

Dumbarses....

wow, what a weekend of college football! I love that Cal got freaking stomped and had 100,000+ people yelling "overrated". They haven't won a big game since 1956 so until then....SHUT UP CAL FAN!!!! Sorry for my rant.....I live about 20 miles from Berkeley so it's all CAL around here.

Notre Dame looked ok, but they could have easily lost that game. It's hard to tell how good Texas is because they played a girls football team this week.

I'm really looking forward to the Texas vs Ohio State game next weekend

Oh, here come the Trojans people! ha ha ha.....Look out cause our defense is better than last year, we have 3 of the best recievers in the nation and we've got 5 running backs that are pretty good.

AHAHAH. The only reason they won last time is because they had Vince Young and they won by one point. Now they've lost their number 1 player. We'll see saturday...

and well, texas is overrated and are def underdogs to the buckeyes

21-10 OSU over Texas

+1

Without their #1 & #2 D-backs on Ginn, he's unstoppable. He runs so damn fast, I doubt they would get him if they did play. It'll be a good game, but I still think the bucks will have it.
