Vote For President
#8
Since I just turned 17, I wont be voting in this election, but I strongly hope that John Kerry IS NOT going up for reelection when I finally get to. Bush isnt gay lol...I just cant see America being run by Kerry, maybe it would be better if Edwards was the candidate, but I still love Bush. GO BUSH!

I vote for Kerry and I hope he gets stranded on a deserted Island and we cant find him. Our choices this year are the worst. I like Bush and his morals but I just cant afford for him to be president again. Kerry is an idiot but hopefully Edwards can keep him on the right track. This is going to be the worst election ever!

I started this dam post, but so far I have kept my big mouth SHUT. Part of me thinks that political threads do not belong on a Mustang site, but then again, what can be more American.
For those of you who have commented about how BAD our choices are, I only have two thoughts:
1 - Consider the options that other countries have!
2 - Who do we expect to run for office in a country where the media exposes everything...there are no secrets. Who the heck can live up to that scrutiny?
I love being an American (music playing in the background). I have been to 15 other countries, and we have it good here. This country is a measly 200+ years old, yet we have the most technology, the strongest economy, the best medical advancements and have done more for humanity than any other place on Earth. If it were not for American intuition, this entire globe would still be in the dark ages fighting plague.
Why? Simple, because we are the land of opportunity (music gets louder) and because of separation of Church and State. Huh? you say? Consider that for a minute. We have advanced because we allow for advancement. Countries that are tied to religion can NOT foster technology because they tythe their people to thinking only one way. In America we have FREEDOM OF RELIGION and the government while founded on Christian values, does not control religious beliefs.
John Kerry I believe has a fundamental problem with this! He believes that everyone should have the same...be the same. He believes that the government should have more control. His ideas prevent America from being the land of opportunity. Yet, it is OK for him to wed a multi-billionaire, tree hugger who only pays 12% of her taxes to the federal government and drives a Hummer.
John Kerry is the big hippocrit! His entire life is based on hypocracy and his desire to be at the center of attention. He is a "professional politician" who needs to be put out to pasture. He is a treasonist! His words have and will result in the added deaths of more Americans here an overseas if elected because his nomination will give power to those who want us dead. He is everything that I do NOT stand for...he has no position BUT the position that he wants to get elected.
President Bush has been placed in perhaps the toughest role that any president has been faced with. Anyone with character knows that sometimes you must make decisions...the right decisions even if they are not popular. The fact of the matter is, there are too many people in this country with their hands out. Too many puzzy 18 - 22 year olds shaking in their shorts about the possibilities of getting drafted (which will NEVER happen). To you I say if the world comes to that breaking point, you better dam hope you have the courage required that many of your ancesters had before ecause we will need you just as we needed your great grandfathers.
If America was once great (and still is) because we are the land of opportunity then will will be a total failure when we have lost will. Electing Kerry and his side-kick Edwards (another self-annointed politician) will mean the this country has lost it's will.
The dems still talk about Election 2000 as if they were cheated. We all know the story. Florida was called by Petter Jennings at around 6 pm as being won by Al Gore only to later announce "Ladies and Gentlemen we have lost Florida". Hum, I thought he was impartial. The fact remains that if Al Gore had won his home state, he would be president today. Why does no one talk about this??? Think about that for a minute. The man who said he was robbed of an election could not get his own neighbors to vote for him. Interesting too that the home state of John Edwards (NC) will vote strongly in favor of the President and Mr. Bush will once again win his home state of Texas.
The reason for this is that Al Gore is a nobody. And when and if Mr. Kerry looses he will not be on the ticket again in four more years. The dems will simply forget about him as his words will not stand up to the test of time.
I can't wait for Nov 2nd! This is a gift that we have as being American. Our system of representative democracy will elect the next president of the most powerful nation in the world on that day and I will be there to see it. My 7 year old will march into the ballet box with me and help me make my selection so she too can be part of history and then in 12 years when she can vote herself she will have that memory.
God Bless America and for the sake of all of us, may the best man win!

I can't afford to have Bush in office for four more years. I think Kerry is an idiot but feel like I have no other choice. This is one of the greatest nations on Earth and these two are the best we can do? That says alot about this country!
I won't appoint someone in office if I can't firmly stand behind them. I was for Bush but seeing this homeland country in the shape it is in is a horror story all in itself. If Bush would have focused a little more attention this way I think he would have alot more votes with no questions but he didn't.
I can't really see anyone actually voting for Karry becasue he is better but becasue he "says" more focus is needed here which is something Bush won't admit.
This election I am scared no matter who is in office.

MT#1 is on a roll
I wanted to "quote" you to respond to your comments, but I figured it would take up too much space. You are dead on with your assessment (below), and I know why. I forgot you told me you grew up in Wheaton.
Isn't Freedom of Speech a fantastic thing!
