I met The President Yesterday!!!!!!
It has been a little crazy around the house this past week. Late last week, my wife and I received the first of many calls from the White House. Monday morning, the finals plans were made.
Tuesday AM, my wife and I at the request of the Office of the President met with the President at Air Force One. The purpose of the visit was to provide us with recognition for our service to children with cancer and for the works that our organization has made over the past four years called Home of Their Own. We even had our taken with him right on the Presidential Seal!
I do not intend for this to become a political thread, but I think that it is great that the president can find the time to meet with two regular folks like ourselves. We are not famous or influential, but this attention is a HUGE BOOST to our little organization that we started to help kids and commit the memory of our little girl that we lost to cancer 4+ years ago!
I told my wife "We did it!" Four years ago we set out to make this dream a reality. We started with nothing but an idea, but in the next few months we incorpated, developed a mission and a vision, and have worked hard to raise money that we needed. Today, we have a facility in Hershey Pa where kids can stay with their families for as long as they need FREE OF CHARGE while recovering from bone marrow transplants.
And now with the help of the President, we may now be able to spread this dream to other areas of the country a little easier.
I have attached a photo and a press release. You can also go to www.whitehouse.gov and see a photo. We were on the front page of the white house website for about two days, but now we have pushed back. Here is a link. You can click on our photo to enlarge it:

We are the October 6th listing.
I have also included two attachments. One is a photo and the other a press release.
After meeting the President, we road in the motorcade and had front row seats for his one-hour speach in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
It was an incredible experience! I will never forget it!!!!

Awesome man, its good to see that you are finally getting some of the credit you deserve, even though thats not the reason that great people like you start amazing organizations like you have. God bless you man, keep up the good work.
