At least we will finally be rid of who is whtout a doubt the worst president in the entire history of the USA.

Everyone who is bitching about Obama winning should take a good look at why he DID win.

Bush did such a lousy job and alienated so many americans that even many die hard republicans voted for Obama.

The republican party for the past 8 years has done absolutly nothing bu make things worse. It was like watching an episode of the 3 stooges for 4 years.

If bush did not do such an lousy job and cause so many people to lose faith in the republican party, McCain probably would have won.

JM2C

Either way, we are better off.

And just to poke a little fact everyone seems to forget, Mccain ALSO supported the trillion dollar bail out plan, so the way i see it, either way were getting a socialist.

The most apparent results are not the only results. Bush the worst president ever, no. The best ever, not by a long shot. For those who call him the worst all you do is look at the exterior of his presidency. Look beyond this, and assuming you are non bias you may actually be pleasently surprised. And as a side note Bush nor the Republicans caused the economic crisis. While the Republicans did play a role it was the Democrats that passed the Community Reinvestment Act into law, and when it comes to the bail out, it was not passed the first time around due to the Democrats. The Democrats had and still do have a majority and could have passed the bill the first time without the Republicans. The argument that the Republicans caused all your problems and therefore Obama will be better is absurd.

The GDP has risen 20% in real terms over the last 8 years. Nothing to scoff at here, I am with ya. It is hard, to not be a Bush supporter and be a Bush defender... but I feel the points are very valid. I still hear people screaming and honking all over providence... the city is going crazy for and against Obama. There have been three almost physical confrontations right in-front of my apartment building already. People are acting like this is either the best or worst thing to happen in their lives. It is the NATURAL PROGRESSION OF OUR COUNTRY.
God Bless America, Obama is not change, America is.

exactly. PM.

were screwed. an entirely democratic majority Government. you can say hello to higher taxes, and lower military spending ( i am National Guard, so my pay is going to be lower). it will get rid of the national debt, yes...but it will make it harder for us to live because of the higher Income taxes, and other taxes he will raise.

I'm a pleased voter, as I should be. But even had I voted McCain/Palin I'd be a proud American. Tonight no matter what happened, I'd have a real answer that this one person (whomever they be) will finally take the reigns on this country and start leading us back to being the Country that everyone can be proud of again.

Whatever, I can already see Nancy Pelosi trying to pass some bullshit gun confiscation/AWB legislation and it going through because we all know Obama isn't going to veto anything related to gun control. **** that, all of my purchases from now - feb are going towards firearms.

Yeah really. He already supports a 500% tax increase on guns and ammunition which is ridiculous. Pretty soon we won't have the right to bear arms...

2009 is gonna be a very interesting year indeed. Obama has inherited a mess, as would have Mccain if he had won. Good luck in getting it straightened out. Hope he gets a brainstorming session going to figure out his staff. I don't think much will change in the 1st year, but we will be able to see if he has the right stuff to manage this country. I think he will be able to make some changes for the good, but it may take all 4 years of his 1st term.

The one advantage he has going for him is gas prices are dramatically lower right now than in the last 1 to 2 years. ( hmm, imagine that). I'm thinking this is bush's last attempt at a legacy before he goes home..

Anyway. economy is Bad now, credit is hard to get. Lets hope America will not look for handouts too much, and get to work. I think too many people in this country want something without having to sweat to get it.

I'll STFU now..

It just shows that with enough money spent you can become President with no real qualifications and no real plan but to give people who don't work money.

Anyone that thinks that with the Democrats in control with everything now that things will get better I feel sorry for you.You all will be ready for change after the first 2 years.

imo, between the presidential results and the few seats the dems picked-up in congress, I'd say we're fucked........and now that we have elected a black president the rest of the world should embrace us, I'm anxious to sea the results of this

lets sea how the stock market reacts today

think I'll go out and buy somemore Gun's n' Ammo before that freedom is lost

I don't know about you guys, but I believe every American should have atleast one gun in your house hold. If you don't have a gun already I recommend you go buy one before you can't... We are fucked now that Obama is President =/ Sad day to be an American...

What we really need is a good president who supports the Americans. A president who won't infringe upon our civil and constitutional rights.

Agreed. What will be even funnier is if that proposed 'change' that Obama says he will deliver doesn't happen! People will still find a way to place blame on the republicans, even though the majority of the house is democraps. (Yes, I meant to make that typo.)

All complaining aside, there's nothing I can do but hope that maybe Obama will do what's right. Not for his own agenda, but for the agenda of every American.
