Thinking about removing my cats..
OK, so I have flows and the factory H pipe. And until I get to the point of getting my Bassani x and headers, I was wondering what kind of sound difference I would get just from removing the cats that are on my car now. Yeah, I know everyone has Flows, and everyone is going to say get SLP or something like that. But, I love the deep hollow sound that flows give and I just want it louder for now. Because with 3 kids to feed, and a wife that wants equal spending money for all mods I do, I want something that I can do for no cost that will give me more sound! So these are the basic questions I have:
With removing them (on a scale of 1 to 5) how much louder will it be?
WIll I still need the MIL eliminators?
Will it change the tone (higher/lower)?
Will there be any more raspiness?
Just curious, because I can get it done for free at my grandfather-in-law's shop....

eh... take em off... a hell of a less restriction on the engine = better MPG and a tit more HP...
it should be somewhat louder
i dont see why ya would need them, you can weld some pipes right in there
tone? i would guess that it would be lower...
may get a tit more raspy, i wouldnt think it would tho since ya have muffs

A guy here is running the exact setup, it just doesn't sound right. By the time you pay to have the cats cut out, u coulda just bought a Mac h-pipe. Just go with the h-pipe so it doesn't look like someone cobbled up your exhaust + if you ever have to get it smog checked, you'll have your stocker in tact.

Oh, and the county I live in doesn't have emissions (way too many rednecks with old beaters that could never ever ever ever pass emissions!)
