As most of you know I am still in the planning stages of my project and will soon post a thread for the start of my build.
For those of you who are in the middle of a build or have completed a build I have a question.
1. I know the only way that I can do this is if I buy some stuff used. I have bought used stuff before for other projects I have built. But I was wondering if you guys could be more specific in what would be a good deal for used parts (not price – what used parts would be ok to look for). What would be parts that you would be looking for used or new but for a deal.
I know that there is a lot of things that are buyer beware and things that you should just steer clear of.

My shifter,H-pipe,pulleys,throttle body,SCT xcal2, and plenum were all used and saved me a lot of cash. On stuff that doesn't wear out and get trashed I have no problem buying those parts used. There are few things I wouldn't buy used. Maybe headlights bulbs, brake parts and the like I prefer new parts.

 

Dustin pretty much hit it. Wear items are the things you need to be weary of. Things like interior parts, engine bolt ons like CAI, things that normally stay the same over time are good. It deppends on what you need.
