31 spline axles, frpp t lock, frpp girdle, welded axle tubes/torque boxes, MM lower control arms, Steeda sport springs, bilstein shocks/sturts, MM c/c plates, steeda ball joints/bumpsteer kit. I had all the suspension and rearend done at the same time. Not sure if you're asking everything that I did at that time, or what else needs to be done when changing gears?

I'm thinking of getting 4.10's in the next couple of weeks, so I'd like to know the answer to this question.

When I got 4.10's installed I got the ford racing 4.10 ring/pinion gears, install kit that comes with shims, spacers, pinion seal etc. I also got new axle bearings (car had 55k miles at the time), rear end fluid and friction modifier. Have your clutch packs inspected as this would be a good time too have them replaced if they are worn from abuse/miles

Thanks, SLP.

My '05 GT is an automatic, has 14,800 miles and is a city driver. I drive highways every once in a while. Could the gears cause problems for me in the future? If so, I won't change gears at all. Just to have a little more 'oomph' isn't worth having significant problems in the future.

Your car will be fine with the gears.

gears, install kit, and oil should be all that you need. I have Royal Purple which already has the friction modifier in it.

How much did that all cost you, I have entertained the idea recently...but I drive the highway most of the time with 100mi. trips daily to and from work.

A friend of mine just installed a set in his 07 and said he would help me do mine, said it wasnt bad just unbolting everything from factory was the hardest part.

Yep, I noticed that too with mine. I still would absolutely not go back, and I have no regrets about going to 4.10, but that is definitely a legit complaint.

GET 'EM Black Sunshine GET THEM!!! I have them on my 05 GT (5spd though) and I can't tell you how happy and mad they made me. Happy because they're just so much fun, and add a nice pull to the car. Mad because I waited so long to do them. Should've been the first thing I did, instead of the last\most recent.

I paid $723 for all the parts and speed cal to recalibrate the speedo and labor and was well worth every penny. As for the highway driving it should be fine I think im turning 2000rpm at 65 mph

Gears are the best mod you can do to these cars. All you need to do is refine your driving style a little. Like the rpms at 45, they will be higher than before but wont hunt anything, actually this will help in city driving because the motor will be closer to the power band and you want be on and off the throttle all the time. Just give it a couple days and youll love um.

You must have a really tall tire then. My automatic with 70% reduction in OD revs at 2500rpm at 65mph with a stock height tuire, a 315/35-17. Sticks drop the gear by 68%. I may sell my 4.10 differential as I bought a new differential and will likely go with 4.30's. The 4.10's are like 2.87's in OD and 4.30's would be like 3.01's, a 4.7% difference or 2617rpm at 65mph, hardly a difference. Gears can be gotten for $149. and the install cost me $200. plus the install kit, about $109.

I'm not positive I think it does 2k at 65 mph, but i'll check tommarow...It's a TR3650 which I believe has a taller overdrive gear than a T45? And I have 315/35-17's in the back

City driving will increase by 1 - 1.5mpg. Highway driving will decrease by 2 - 3mpg.

100 miles daily id stay away from gears that 2-3 mpg difference adds up quick with that kind of mileage

I have 4:10's and i average 20-21mpg in both city and highway

my car's epa rating is 16/21
just dont drive like an ******* and keep yer rpms under 3,000 and yer fine for highway driving.

4:10's destroying gas mileage is a myth for a stock mustang gt. They just arent steep enough. I usually cruise 75mph on the highways, and still get over 20mpg

I just dont know about that I've had my 00 since day one and have never made over 20mpg, my best was just under 19mpg trying extremely hard.

It does pull a bit harder, but i thought that it would really put me in my seat. 1st gear and about 1/2 of 2nd spins, but the car still moves. It does not fry the tires in place. I would've been so disappointed if I went with 3.73's.
I got my 4.10's installed yesterday and I must say I completely agree with this statement. I was definitely expecting more out of them, but I can definitely feel that it is pulling a little harder and does indeed accelerate faster, but not the way I anticipated it would. When I first drove it home yesterday (I've put maybe 20 miles on them so far), I didn't really feel much of a difference at all between my 3.31's and the 4.10's. Then again, I didn't get to put the car down the road like I wanted to. I did drive it to my appointment to get the headers installed today and I could tell more of a difference. I think the more I drive it, the more I'll like them. My speedometer is wayyyy off. If I had to guess, I'd say I'm really going about 50-55 when my gauge tells me I'm going 60, but that will be fixed when I get the CAI on it and tune it this weekend. My gears also have a light 'hum' to them. It's actually kind of a pleasant sound and it doesn't bother me. No whine, no grind, no roar, so I'm happy. I'm glad I listened to you guys and didn't go with the 3.73's, or I'd be pissed at myself right now.

Congrats, the more you drive it the better it will get and all that other stuff will only help help the Butt-o-Meter. I think once you hammer it one good time, youll be hooked.
