Not impressed with packing job on springs.
Hey guys.
Look, I like this place, and i would like to continue shopping here. But this is rediculous.
My MT orange sprangz arrived yesterday, and it is my firm believe you had a retarded chimpanzee pack these things.
When i opened the box yesterday and pulled out the springs i couldnt believe the terrible condition they were in.
orange powder coating was all over the inside of the box, all 4 springs are marred up and look like crap, each spring has 4-5 large places MINIMUM where the powdercoating got chipped off, not to mention the 20-30 places on EACH SPRING where the powdercoating is worn down pretty bad.
It would have been REAL EASY to simply wrap each spring in a layer of bubblewrap and that would have prevented all of this, instead, all 4 springs were thrown in the box with just enough brown packing paper to MAYBE make 1 brown grocery bag. So they were rolling around and banging into eachother.
I cant say i fault UPS/FEDEX/Whatever you use, because this could have easily been overcome by using a little bit of bubblewrap on each spring to keep them from rubbing into eachother and chipping eachother.
All i can say is THANK FREAKIN GOD the springs are not very visable. i did NOT get them because of the happy color, i got them because i wanted to lower my car a little bit and trusted these are better than the Ford C Springs.
So im not going to send them back, im going to go ahead and install them, i just wanted you all to know that you suck at teh packaging skills, and if you are trying to push your own product you MIGHT want to actually pay attention to the packaging job.
I know, the shipping was free, but i'd rather pay shipping if i know im getting something that was packaged with care.
These springs look like ****.
Also, whatever happened to my valve stem caps? i had an order a while back and you guys sent me the door lock pins instead, and i was told the 9mm valve stems would be sent that day.... that was a while ago.... as in, way before i even ordered my springs.
Anyways, i plan to put the springs in this weekend, ill be sure to let everyone know how difficult/easy it was and impressions i get off of them. I'm sure i'll like them, thank god i dont have to see them.

Well, I value your input on our packing job on the springs. I was not aware on how they were being packed, so this gives me some insight as to what needs to change down in shipping. Part of the problem is that the manufacturer of the springs sends us them in a big giant box with all of the springs touching each other. It sounds like I need to have them change their packing ways because of the scratching and chipping on the springs. As far as the stem caps go, I could have sworn I sent those to you. PM me your info, ill get a set next dayed to you.

Anyways, yeah, so my driveway doesent exactly have a graceful slope up which is my biggest problem, im probably going to have to rent a jackhammer and re-do the entrance to my driveway and make it a little bit more gentle.

I scrape on my driveway but not that bad...also, I've never really tried but can you even see the springs after they are installed. Who cares if they are chipped, I can understand about the chin spoiler but not the springs, and when you spend a whole 140.00 on springs you can't expect much.

Wow, no, not that steep. when i bring my car and drive it up to the edge of the driveway and get the wheels right at the curb my chin spoiler is about 2 1/2 inches off the ground, so i gotta take it slow.

I just talked to the shipping guys and have a new method for packing the springs, HOWEVER, I feel most of the "scuffs and scratches" you refer to actually are the way they come to us. They shipped them to us in two giant pallet sized boxes with no packaging material between the springs. They have some areas with paint scuffed off on them, etc etc...
I'm curious how bad yours look? They probably don't look much worse if at all from the way they arrive at our dock.
Of course, all of this doesn't matter once they are installed. These springs will be black with road dirt after about 10 days of driving. Ever install a set of springs before?

Well, if they send them over in that fasion then im sure some of the worn down areas are a result of that. they do look pretty bad, each spring has 5-6 areas where it has actually been chipped off, while most of the sides are worn down a little bit. None the less, they dont look pretty. But it really wont matter once they are installed.
Im not kidding though with the packing job, it wwas pretty poor. There was enough brown packing paper to make 1 grocery bag, when i picked up the box they were rolling around in there banging into eachother :P

The CAI I just got was packed the exact same way you describe your springs were. Just brown paper bags, it would seem thats there default packing material for all larger items. Pretty sad.
Edit: And my eibach pro-kit springs are still very blue after almost three months of of use. :P Same for the Tokico shocks.
