Default Power shifting ?

This is a really dumb question, but what is power shifting? and how do you do it?

Powershifting is shifting w/o taking your foot off the gas. So basically, when you shift, leave your right foot alone and coordinating your left foot and right arm, jab the clutch while banging the stick into the gear you want. However, make sure the shift is quick otherwise you can over-rev the engine as well as timing the left-foot and right arm movements so you don't grind gears. This kind of shifting is the main reason why Hurst came out w/ shifters back in the day.

FWIW, if you have the TR3650, that trans is not very keen to power shifting so be advised if you try.

I power shift mine all the time, have been since I got it. Just learn to shift quickly then once you can do that just keep the gas down while you shift. Its rather easy actully.

Is this technique used for quicker 1/4 mile times?

Of course. The technique allows for quicker shifts and keeps the rpms up.

Unfortunately for me, no matter what I do, 2nd ALWAYS grinds when I power shift. 3rd on the other is golden and 4th I can shift clutchless below 1500 rpm.
