Default PATS system

Is there anyway to turn off ford's awful PATS system? My car thinks it is being stolen almost every other time I attempt to turn it on and then i have to lift the hood and unhook the battery to turn the theft light off so I can get my car to give gas to the engine. I want the whole systen ripped out of the car is that possible?
