Transmission Problems
The other day I dropped the clutch at 4k just messing around and it spun at first and then I shifted to second and I looked at the tach and it went to 6k so I let off. The problem was the tires werent spining when I shifted to second and I smelled what my clutch burning up really bad.
Now I am stuck with what to do. I only have 40,000 miles on mile car, is it really time for a new tranny or is something a new clutch and flywheel will fix? I know the T-45's are a piece of crap but damn. I have been wanting to get a T-56 but I dont have the money for it right now and so I figured I would just put a new clutch and flywheel in my car in hopes of fixing for right now. What do you guys think about SPEC? I was going to go with the SPEC stage 3 with aluminum flywheel.
My car makes right around 400 rwhp and I have a B&M short shifter in there to saves those stupid plastic forks from breaking. It just puzzles me that Ford made a tranny that is so weak in the first place.

Yep thats what I keep hearing and that clutch has been ran up to 600 horse so ill think I'll be fine with 400. I have to do it soon though because I cant shift hard at all without smelling the clutch......
