ya i havent installed the cams yet, but i have taken off everything needed just waiting to put in and reinstall everything and it has been suprisingly easy......no bolts that are impossible to get to or any bolts that wont come out everything has gone smooth so far

Haha exactly. I cant even count how many people post back to terrible stories after cam installs. Its not hard to do, but there is a right and wrong way, its easy to screw up, and its time consuming.
Modular Powerhouse charges ~$1100 for cam and spring install. So Id say thats how much you should expect to pay.

$1000 for cams and spring install? That is right in line with what a shop charges. If the shop is good and warranties their work, I think $1000 is in line.
I saw a guy at the track a few years ago. Put cams in all by his little 'ol self and the motor blew on the first run.
I would add, however, that if you are going to pay for a cam install, might as well consider poprting your heads at the same time. That way you only pay for the labor once to install the heads.

Has he ever done those installs before, how is he going to do the cam install? Will he do it the wrong quick way, or the right way? Will he time the engine like hes supposed to? What happens if something goes wrong, is he going to pay for replacement parts? Doesnt sound like a good idea to me.
BTW, what converter did you get?

Supertune.
I think I am just going to go S/C since it is going to cost nearly as much.
