How high of milage is too high Fox Body
i am looking for a Fox body Mustang GT 90 - 93 years. I am looking in the $3 to $5k range. There is one local that is a 92 GT black with cobra wheels, lowering springs, flow masters, cirvili hood, new trans. The paint is good, and interior is good. Nothing spectactular but still looks good. The milage is 180K and the owner does not know if the engine has ever been rebuilt. He is asking $5k but I think he would take $4k. I dont know if its worth that with 180k miles? Is that high mileage a good reason to move on to another Mustang? i plan on putting some miles on it so...
With any car that old as a daily commuter you should have some money put aside for repairs. If the rest of the car is nice then go for it but just be prepared for the unexpected. You never know when a car with that kind of mileage will have an engine or trans go, it could be years or it could be tomorrow.
I wouldnt call that high miles for a 19 year old car. My grandma has about over 350,000 on hers and that was 5 years ago when I drove it. She has a 89 LX convertible.
5k for a 92. For me to pay that price the car needs to be prestine and issue free. No stains rips or sun damage to the interior. Pick the car apart and make the guy feel like a dick for asking a high price. Especially one that has a stock engine.

Hey guys saw this thread and wanted some advice. Im looking at a 4.6 liter v8 mustang from 04. It has 91,000 miles on it. Its bone stock and its in amazing condition inside and out. Engine is clean and it looks like its been taken care of. I see all these posts about people with crazy miles and i was just looking for some input. I do want to mod it a little bit and get some more power and i dont want it to brake on me mid process. Thanks in advance guys.
